I myself have taken many of these people into my own home getting them off the streets.
I help them get cleaned up!
I have had many give their hearts to the Lord and get their feet back on the ground.

Just becoming a friend works wonders!
tried that once, went away for 2 days & came back to a trashed apartment with a buncha my worthless but important stuff missing, they even stole all my food (i'd buy for 2 weeks to make sure i had food between paydays & had just fully stocked up). that was 89 b4 i was christian & i was pretty poor myself, I learned that perhaps bringing homeless people home is not a good idea.

I think it depends on why you take them in, you must use wisdom and let God guide you!

In Washington I had an average of 9 people living with me that I took off the streets and into my home. I only took home the ones the Lord told me too!
In one years time I must of took in 50 people, all of which gave their heart to the Lord.
And over 200 people gave their hearts to the Lord when they saw the change in these people!

In reading all your posts and what I have read in scripture it is clear that I will help when I can. I must stand before God one day and to help is what he asked. Even If I know that my help will be used for wrong. That is for God to judge not I. I dont have to offer money, All I have to do is offer help. I may just put together a few bags of food in my car so I can have it handy and a few other things. God bless, pickles

when you see someone begging for food wouldn't you give something him/her to eat?when you see someone begging for help, wouldn't you help him/her?whoever he/she is, share whatever you have because no one could help them but you.

That's right Pickles I agree I believe our job is to give, not to tell them what to do with it. Or presume to know what they want it for or what they would do with it. That's something they will be held accountable for, not us.

wow good job & praise the Lord. I wish I could say I've seen just one person come to the Lord, (other than my 2 boys) but i suppose my purpose is different. I continue to plant seeds and pray, at times feeling very alone in my faith as i am surrounded by unbelievers. hmmm i know its of the flesh to want, but i'd love to see just one of my friends come to the Lord... to actually be present when they are spiritually re-born, how awesome that would be.

Imoss,

God will give you the desires of your heart. Keep sowing the seed and keep watering because the harvest will come. It may be many days but it will come.

A family man from a small town in New England had been saved and was so transformed by the love of God. One of his neighbors had a drinking problem and for years he tried to minister to him but the man was not open to the gospel. One day there was a knock on the door and the man showed up, drunk as a skunk, and didn't want to go home to his wife. So he let him stay the night and sleep it off. In the morning they woke him for breakfast and he couldn't get over the kindness this family had showed him. That day, as a broken down trodden drunk, this man gave his heart to the Lord. God called him to go to Bible School, he became a pastor and they served God together for more than 35 years. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy, bringing their sheaves with them (Psalm 126:5,6).

Well, get a load of this. I've seen homeless guys in suits. In fact, a lot wear suits. Why do they wear suits? They aren't fooling anyone.
A mobile phone too? Fits the picture.
But man, if someone can become a millionairre by street begging, they are a genius. Move over Mr Trump.
Afterall, we should feel sorry for rich people in this current economic climate. We wouldn't want them to have to live on anything less than $2000 a week. It's inhumane to everything that a capitalist society stands for!

See i have never seen a begger in a suit! We normally get alot of them here that hold us signs saying will work for food... if i saw a guy in an armani suit begging.... i would more than likely jump him for his suit

Well some people value suits more than permanent accomodation. I'm the opposite. I rarely wear a suit. Rarely have to. Can we still call them suits if they don't suit us? It's more of an unsuit. But maybe re: comments on mustangs. We mistakenly think beggars are beggars because they have no money. Have we even considered the possibility of beggars being beggars just because that's who they are and they like begging? Maybe I judge beggars too much by assuming that all beggars are homeless and poor. Do not judge the beggar by assuming he or she is poor. Do not judge.

Some a bit too much. When they ask "guddy mate, do ya have a spare 50 bucks?" ..

A SPARE 50 bucks?! Sure, I keep 50's on my person spare just in case I need to buy a cooked red lobster in an emergency situation.
