I think it's pretty amusing that, so far, the women's response to this is "No, that's not how it works!" and the men's response is "...yeah, pretty much." :P

Cause men like to oversimplify things for how they appear. Women want to explain it how it actually is. Rigid charts make this difficult.

So we should all go back to school and learn to build our own mathematically perfect robot man or woman... Boys, you can call her Lisa. Girls, mine is SteFAN. :). Thanks for translating my point into boy talk Liam.

I got a chuckle out of this.
It reminds me of highschool when we had to write two pages on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
I could do it it five or so lines, you apparently want a novel.

I don't see a reason to be up in arms over it.

It was made for purposes of laughter because it is partially true. Is it supposed to be? You are free to make a judgement or write a dissertation on it as djness playfully suggested.

I don't have a problem with making an equation, so long as the numbers are subjective and not Objective.

For me... Beatrice Might be an 8 (4 + 5) but for LightningClap Beatrice might be a 7 (6 + 2).

However I do have a problem with the lack of complexity. If we were to make an equation it would have to include such variables as Mental stability and Openness and Health and communication skills and Musical Talent and Work Ethic and a plethora of innumerable variables.

I would say at minimum a measure of at least 30 different Variables plugged into an algorithm. Each value intrisic to the hierarchy by virtue of weighted subjective measure.

I think this pretty much what E-Harmony does.

If I can plug myself into an equation and then plug my values into a different equation, we have a rough working model for compatibility. (Theoretically)

tl;dr I like the idea of an equation (not this one) but, I don't like the idea of using any equation to solve anything.
I think my equation needs to include her name. Beatrice? Really? :D

I like men with livestock...

"Captain Planet he's our hero, gonna take pollution down to zero":) Am I a total nerd for remembering this lol I loved watching that show when I was little.

My first time reading through this, I read "population" not "pollution."

As others said, the chart is too simple and it completely ignores other factors. I think the same as Jordache that Heart or Morals should be added to the list. I don't wanna sound too romantic or idealist but I really can't be attracted to someone who has money but is a jerk about it, the same with looks and humor. Sadly though, the chart does represent many women in the world. I think that for those women it would be like this: Money+humor+looks+intelligence. And for guys: LOOKS (everything else is a bonus). I do hope this is different for Christians, I REALLY do.

i mean im not going to lie looks are normally the first sign of attraction most people have. Like oh she's cute, maybe i should get to know her...

Discuss. But one special rule: don't talk about yourself. (If you believe you are the exception to this, using you as an example is not a good example, because you don't always see yourself the way that you truly are).
The fine print at the bottom of it seems pretty accurate. Can't say much for the rest of it.

I just took a quick mental tally of past relationships, and I can honestly say I've never dated anyone for their money. I happen to place a higher standard on Intelligence and Humor over Looks, though. I think this comes more with age and experience, to be quite honest. Sure, I've dated a few guys because I thought they were very attractive, but after a while you learn that looks fade, but a gentleman with whom you can carry on a decent conversation is priceless. (Especially if he is hilarious!)

But I have noticed that many (notice I didn't say all...) gentlemen don't seem to have the same standards. I have been friend-zoned (I hate that term, but it fits best here) more times than I can count because of my appearance.

Because of your appearance Bridget??? You.. erm, look quite pretty from the avatars you have had. :)

Hmm... If I friendzone people it is generally because of their intelligence or humour, or interests really, or age I guess. Won't say I'm not attracted to looks though.

Well, thank you Stuey. But it's true. Not everyone finds "real-sized" women beautiful. :D I don't have the patience to become the stick-figure of every man's dreams!

Neither do most men have time to get six packs. Well, depends what kind of six pack. :P

I have, in fact, always been more drawn to the brains in jars of fiction than the beefcakes. I want to be a brain in a jar. I said it! Ha!

I have always been attracted more to a nice face than a "muscular torso".. That just seems odd to me... Yep. Definitely a face woman.

And, I've never been much into the hops/wheat beverages. Does wine, or Earl Grey tea come in a six pack? :D
