Hence, the Father is the one true God John 17:3
At THIS time, while Jesus was here in earth born of Mary, God the Father was the ONLY God for Jesus was no longer a God, but a flesh and blood man!

When Jesus returned to be at the right hand of The Father He again was a God!

We are given the terms God the Father and God the Son only so that we will know which is which. Both are God's. Both are eternal. But only ONE became as us; a flesh and blood man!

St. John 1: 18 – No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared him.

St. John 5: 37 – And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

St. John 6: 46 – Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Now the words (NO MAN), (AT ANY TIME) and (NEITHER HEARD HIS VOICE….NOR SEEN HIS SHAPE.)are very absolute! We can take the inspired word of God to mean just what it says; no man, EVER, has seen God the Father, heard his voice nor seen his shape at any time………So that would mean NEVER!!

.
Then let us take it as absolute from the plain text

No man hath seen God at anytime
1John 4:12

THE ABOVE DOES NOT STATE THE FATHER, BUT GOD

NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANYTIME
John 1:18

Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the father
John 6:46

Now this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only TRUE God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent
John 17:3

NO ONE has seen the Father, NO ONE has seen God, AT ANYTIME

They are one and the same
The Father is THE ONE TRUE GOD

You don't know your scriptures...

I know you do not understand....for this is what have been given to mankind since the church decided this back in 325ad. But there are only (2) God's in the Godhead, the one that Jesus Christ said no man has seen or heard, which is God the Father...and the God that was seen and heard by the elders and Moses in the wilderness, or Jesus Christ!

There is only one God...not two...

The Holy Spirit is just that....an 'holy; spirit or angel.
Muslims think that the Holy Spirit is an angel...are you Muslim?

At times this 'holy angel' speaks with all of the authority of God but he is not a God. He is the one that brings the same message as God.
The Holy Spirit is God.

There is only one place in ALL of God's word that tells us just how The Father, the Son, The Holy Spirit and even those that bring the same message are all one. It can be found in John 17.
The Trinity is proclaimed all through scripture.

Now since we are ONLY to receive our doctrine from the bible....however it states that The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are one is the only doctrine we can profess and believe in.
One Triune God.

So however God's word tells us they are one...we are one in the same way. Let's read what thus says the word of God;

John 17
[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

One what?

Why don't you show context?

So tell me....how does God's word tell us The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are all one? Because however it says THEY are one, WE are one in the same way!

The Father, Son and Spirit have the same name.

Do you?

Christ has the title God, but not the one TRUE God

[SUP]8 [/SUP]But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”[SUP][f]

And this is how we know there are (2) in the Godhead. For a God HAS been seen;

Ex. 24
9. Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
10. And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
11. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

"
And they saw the God of Israel...", "...also they saw God..."

A God was seen by man. They may not have been able to see His face....but they were able to make out that He had hands and feet. And we know that this God was not the one that we know as God the Father because Jesus told us no one has ever seen Him. So which God is this that was seen by the elders? Jesus Christ! The God that made everything that was made. The one that was with them in the wilderness!

Just to round it off:

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

Firstly, bearing in mind the scriptures put up, do you accept the Father is the one true God?

Yes, Christ was the God of Israel that appeared to the elders in Ex 24:9-11

74 elders saw him, they saw Christ
Buit, the Father is the one true God

We may have to differ on ex 33, but to me this is more important

I say with great boldness and as of one with authority to speak up and state, you both are off, inaccurate, For #1st of all God are 3 in 1. (Equality). as for the 2nd, Jesus Christ, when manifested into flesh, was made (only for the time of his life) a little while, lower than the angels, like us, now, Jesus Christ is God the One True God because He is a door or gateway if you will, to the Father, when we look at Jesus we see the Father, did you see his flesh act up once in him? (None). So in other words they are 3 in 1 and we need every one if we want to enter into heaven. Father Son + Holy Ghost = 1

Well....we know that Christ is the God of the OT. And we know it will be Christ that comes to judge the nations when He returns. So let's read what the God of the OT is called, the one that will judge when He returns;

Jer.10
[10] But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

So the above God is the one that will "...abide his indignation."

Now let's confirm who will judge man or "...abide his indignation;

Gen.18
[25] That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
And let's confirm this;

St. John 5
22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son;
26. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given unto the Son to have life in himself. And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

So the God that will judge man is the one that is known as God the Son. And we read that this judge is also called, "...
But the LORD is the true God..."

Re: Study up...

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up [SUP]10[/SUP]and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire,[SUP][b][/SUP] clear as the sky itself. [SUP]11 [/SUP]But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.
ex24:9-11

Hence David speaking under the influence of the Holy Spirit

THE Lord said to MY LORD sit at my right hand until I put everything under your feet
Psalm110:1

So Christ was his lord, being the God of Israel,

Hence Elizabeths words

Why should I be so favoured that the mother of MY LORD should come to visit me
Luke1:43

And hence Thomas words

My Lord and my God
John 20:28

Christ did not correct Thomas, but only three chapters earlier had stated

Now this is eternal life, that they may know you(the Father) THE ONLY TRUE GOD and Jesus Christ whom you have sent
John 17:3

The Father being the other Lord David spoke about under inspiration of the Holy Spirit

We do not know WHICH 'holy spirit' it was that was sent to help the nation of Israel, but it was an angel of God, which is what The Holy Spirit/Ghost/Comforter is; an angel of God! The Holy Spirit/Ghost/Comforter is the same one that spoke to the prophets of the OT.
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?. . . .thou hast not lied unto men but unto GOD. . .it seems that the Holy Spirit is God . . .not an angel.

Re: You don't know your scriptures...

[/B]There is only one God...not two...
If that is true then Jesus or somebody LIED!

Let's read God's word....

Ex. 24

Now let's read what Jesus said.....

So which is it......did the Holy Spirit lie to the prophets when they wrote the OT? Did Moses lie when he said that God was seen by the elders? Or was it Jesus who lied when He said no man has seen God?

Which is it?

Re: Study up...

All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me(by the Father)
MATT

28:18

Paul confirms this:

[SUP] [/SUP]Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. [SUP]25 [/SUP]For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
[SUP]27[/SUP]For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

1Cor15:24-28

The Father has put everything in Heaven and on earth under the sons feet
Christ reigns now and is OVER ALL
Paul confirms again:

Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Rom9:5

Christ reigtns over all, God blesseed forever, or to put it aniother way, Blessed of God forever

All roads lead to Rome as it were

The Father is THE ONE TRUE GOD

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?. . . .thou hast not lied unto men but unto GOD. . .it seems that the Holy Spirit is God . . .not an angel.

Let's look at two places where an Angel, also known as a 'holy spirit' was either called God, or acted or spoke with the authority of God;

Num.22
[35] And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

Now let’s read who Balaam said gave him the words to speak;

[38] And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

Even though it was the angel of the Lord that gave Balaam the words to say, Balaam said it was God that put the words in his mouth. Let’s read another;

Judg.2
[1] And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

Again, the angel, a 'Holy Spirit' is talking as though he was the one that made the covenant, though we know it was really the Lord, but the angel still spoke as if it were he that made the agreement with the nation of Israel. Why? Because it was the angel of the Lord, a "Holy Spirit", that God sent to watch over the nation of Israel. God gave him the authority to speak as though it were Him.

When reading God's word you will find many places where the angel of the Lord, God’s ’holy spirit’, speaks and works as though he is the Lord. You will find throughout the scriptures many times when the Lord gives His "Holy Spirits" the same power and authority as Himself.
