Ricky, God does want us to rely on him first and foremost. He wants us to love one another, that's different to relying on others for everything we are and do.

I really don't want to condense it cuz faults are easier found without the details to fill them in.

as you know it is not a simple issue...

and like i said it would have to be an adaptable/flowing system so there would be no set list of procedures/rules...

Okay...so who would decide what this adaptable/flowing system would be?

Someone, somewhere would have to say what is acceptable and what isn't. The majority of people voting for something doesn't mean that the conclusion would be the right one. That isn't reality - current politics should tell us that (lol). Hitler, and his gang, decided that killing Jews was 'right'...The 'one child policy' in China is another terrible example of someone (the government) deciding something that they believe to be right, but is morally wrong. There are always absolutes...some things are always absolutely wrong. So who is to say what is absolutely wrong and what isn't? We know, from history, that majority cannot decide this...not only is it unrealistic to get people to agree on anything (lol
:D), but it is unrealistic to think that the majority can make a decision that will benefit everyone.

The point is, you may not agree that God has the right to do whatever He wants with His creation...but He has given us absolutes to protect us. It is man that runs off and thinks that they can run their lives better apart from God. That, also, is unrealistic.
:) I like you, Dark. You remind me of someone very precious to me....

well...the only absolutes would be no murder, rape, expensive theft or extreme abuse...everything else is up for debate...

well honestly i think i would be better off without god, i'd be fine with being in a world with just me and 1 other person (of my choice) haha

I hope i don't remind you of anyone... cuz i'm pretty messed up lol xD

You do remind me of my little brother. Almost verbatim (maybe you are secretly him...hmm...:)). Anyways...I like your list of absolutes. Sounds good to me. But what if the majority didn't agree? Why would murder, rape, expensive theft (but cheap theft is okay...lol), or extreme abuse (but mild abuse it okay...), be absolutely wrong?

Well...instead of being totally hypothetical, let's be realistic. If I went around to random people on the street and asked them about that list of absolutes most of them would agree...so the majority does agree lol

And well those things are obviously wrong, right? and most people would agree.

But most people do not agree with "gods" set of absolutes cuz they are too strict...

Should not be too strict or too lenient, a moderate area is best.

Well, even if that were the case that doesn't take into account the amount of people who live in the entire world....so we cannot say for certain that the majority would agree, can we? :)

So they are wrong because the majority of people declare them to be wrong? Seriously, what if the majority of people in the world disagreed that rape was always wrong, would it make rape any less wrong?

Whether or not people agree with God's set of absolutes is, quite honestly, irrelevant. That doesn't make His 'list' more, or less, right. What absolutes has God set that you do not agree with?

Well...what if the majority disagreed with you that abortion is not murder? I think it is murder. Actually, scratch that...I know it's murder. So if the majority of people in the world agreed with me, then would you believe that abortion is always wrong?

btw...the 10 commandments were given to show us how often we get it wrong. Do not murder is one of the 10 commandments...so you don't disagree with all of them. :)
