My mind is blown that Snackersmom's avatar is no longer Snacker the ceramic bear, of which came from the devil! :p

Really though, your avatar now is lovely. Flowers are the best. :)

My mind explodes somewhat regularly. I'm easily captivated.

Examples:

Texting. How do the words that I type float through the air and get to the other person's phone in that exact order within seconds?

Language. That we understand each other, these symbols, that they mean something and we comprehend them, but any other symbols/languages we aren't familiar with are nothing to us, but clear as crystal to those who are familiar with it...just blows my mind.

Buttons that make cool things happen. Example (an example within an example! Exampleception): My parent's car has a button on the dashboard that makes a little door slide up to store stuff in. You push the button again, and it slides the door shut. I sat there and pushed that button 10 times I'm sure. How does the same button that opens it, close it? Obviously there are mechanics to it but since I don't know what they are my mind is blown.

That there are places on earth that have NEVER had humans eyes see them. Only God knows what kind of creatures are there: in the deep, in the jungles, in the mountains, etc.

I wish I could say that my mind gets blown at work every day... sadly, I've come to expect certain things from our sales dept. so it is less mind blowing and more routine tragedy.

What does blow my mind Each and Every Time is the embrace of my children.

I think the depths of stupidity is what blow my mind the most. Like....I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier myself but have you ever seen somebody do something soooo stupid your like.....How could they possibly have thought that would have turned out well? lol

Ok, clarification time: I only posted that flower picture in the interest of randomness, it wasn't meant to be a commentary on what I really look like. Just wanted to clear that up. :)

Rachelsedge:
Your post made me think of Proverbs 30: 18 & 19......

There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Four which I do not understand: The way of an eagle in the sky, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the middle of the sea, And the way of a man with a maid.

^^No doubt the writer would have included text messages if he'd known about them. ;)

Ah, yes, I took down the avatar of Snackers, the evil pagan vodoo doll...I'm thinkin' Tommy meant to type "voodoo", but we won't make him feel bad about it ;).

Random fact: My current avatar is a passion flower, Passiflora incarnata. The "passion" part is supposed to refer to the Passion of Christ.....do a google search for the symbolism that's been attributed to the flower if you're interested. :)

Snackersmom, that Bible verse reminded me of why I love the end chapters of Job. They are my favorite (36-42 I believe). God talks about His creation, and they are things I marvel at! Things like weather, animals, dimensions, etc. Every time I read those passages I am in awe. I also read those passages when I need to be humbled, when I think I know better than God. Usually after the first few verses, I'm back to being like "Okay God...I trust You. You got this!" ;)

That's a bit off topic. So I will add another thing that blows my mind: Sleeping and dreams. That our body just goes into this unconscious state and plays weird "movies" for us while it's at it. That we can never pinpoint when exactly we fell asleep, it just sort of happens.

Oh, I thought of something else: Thinking. There's a voice in my head that no one else can hear, pictures that no one else can see, yet I know they're there. Things that just come out of nowhere. That I can "hear" it in my head. It's just strange to think about thinking.

Mind Blown. I can talk to people on the other side of the world and both agree and disagree with them.

Here's somethin' for ya Rachel. Your brain is the only thing that feels, hears, sees, touches, and tastes. That's it. Your fingers aren't feeling the keys of the keyboard. Your brain is. Your brain is also telling your body that you see colors, light, this text, anything really. Your eyes see nothing without your brain. Without some bacteria and an electrical charge, your body is nothing. Think about it this way. You're at a theatre watching a movie. Is the movie the screen? Or is it being projected onto the screen? That's the way it is with our brains and bodies. Our bodies are the screens, but our brain is the projector. :D

Texting. How do the words that I type float through the air and get to the other person's phone in that exact order within seconds?
Well...

First, the text is converted into 'bits' and grouped into 'packets' with added 'header' information. Then, ...

Wait. Do you really want to know this? ;)

My parent's car has a button on the dashboard that makes a little door slide up to store stuff in. You push the button again, and it slides the door shut. The button 'knows'... :D *

In all seriousness - yes - most people do not realize this is true.

(about the oceans, perhaps, but not the jungles)

* HAHA - Just Kidding!

:)

People have told me I look like Bear from The Bear in the Big Blue House, Mikey from American Chopper, and two days ago I heard a new one, that I look like John Goodman from The Big Lebowski.
Jullianna looks like every redhead actress, and I get all the fat guys.

That Deserves a thread all its own!

My mind was blown the first time I saw that film and afterwards suggested to the 30 or so people I saw it with that we all go bowling [It was only 10 on a Friday night, we were young(er) & single], but everyone said they were tired and went to their respective homes to go to bed.

And no, it is a Toyota Rav4.

My mind is blown onto how we got on the topic of bowling...I read the thread and didn't see anything about it? While we're talking about it though, I'm also a horrible bowler. I do like picking out the prettiest ball, though. The trick is finding one that's the right weight and pretty.

I'm not very good at bowling either. I'm good at getting the ball in the gutter or slipping and sliding onto my bottom but unfortunately you don't get points for those.
