I repeat, Arius believed Christ was divine, but you would not in truth accept him as a Christian

Who was on Christ in BODILY SHAPE/FORM when he walked this earth?
see, if you go over to Elin's study (for example), you'll find out WHY the Holy Spirit

1) touched on; descended onto Jesus at His Baptism.
2) appeared to John.

it has nothing to do with Him becoming Deity at that time.
but, some ppl want to hang tight in the most ancient of heresies.
that they (you, Mark) choose it is self-evident.

only satan would claim Jesus is not God < GOD IS ONE, THERE IS ONE GOD.
and The Lord's Baptism is a perfect place for satan to inject the lie.
you have to know why He was Baptized, to begin with.

why you listen to that stuff Mark?
why you try to pass that junk along?
why you insistent?

no one wants it.

Sometimes I think you really just enjoy my inner geek. Needless to say, I definitely won't get to it tonight, but I'll gladly begin working on it tomorrow after I get home. There's certainly a lot of material to cover just on this one verse, but the prime focus will be: (1) to observe the variant data ["Lord" vs. "Jesus" vs. "God"], and (2) to discuss which of the variant readings is the most viable option, (3) as well as a little history on the unorthodox corruption of Scripture concerning the pre-existence of Christ. And yes, I promise, heads will roll.
How is it coming along?

This thread would be long dead if everybody let Mark argue with himself. *Sheesh*

That would just make him go to another site, and work on their grey matter, is that anyway to love the brethren?:p

Well since Mark made his last comment five of ya have posted on the thread. I guess its hard for ya to let it go huh

Good job your ministers aren't like you

You know what one told me on another site?

If I preached that from the pulpit(what a lot of you do on this website) I'd empty my church of nearly all the sincere Christians in it.

Guess its easy to understand why he's a minister of a church and some of you are just preachin on the internet huh:D

Re: Keep quoting Trinitarian rendered scripture...

There you go again quoting Trinitarian rendered scripture for your non-Trinitarian world view.

Good luck in convincing anyone...
Why Mr. Bowman,. And there was me, in my simplicity thinkin' that John just acurately reported what Christ said, and the English translatiors faithfully translated it from the original languages
Schucks, guess we can't rely on the bible for truth as we know it. Better stop reading scripture alltogether
Still, you're here to tell us what scripture actually means, so that's a positive I suppose
Awesome!

You are the only one in this discussion trying to use Trinitarian rendered scripture for your non-Trinitarian position.

Ever since you were made aware of this simplistic fact, your posting had almost come to a complete stop.

No doubt, you will forever be behind the Trinitarian 8-ball whenever you even think about posting scripture....I mean...its not as if you have any exegetical support for your interpretation...none, in fact...

You really have nothing.

Period.

Re: You have nothing...

Ya know, I've observed a lot of these discussions, and the more mature Christians don't get involved in them and make the comments a few have on this thread. The ones who generally do make public their extra biblical demands for salvation are the head theologists who think they know

Nah, I just got the plain scripture, but what's that compared to the brilliance of the academic minds who can do such wonderful exegesis(gymnastics) with the plain texts

You knoqw Jimmy, I like reading some of your posts, which suprises me that you come onto this debate and let yourself down

If it is so important to believe Christ is God Himself, then that is testimony to the ministers in your churches woefully letting down their congregations
I am assuming yo believe that any salvational belief must from the pulpit be plainly and clearly preached.
It is a mninisters fundamental obligation to do so
Would you care to comment as to why this does not happen(or rarely happens)?

All you have is a misplaced comma and artificially added words in parenthesis in your version of scripture.

Not impressed.

I can only repeat. Very, very few Trinitarian ministers would preach from, the pulpit what a few of you passionately preach on this website. And well over 90% of people in Trinitarian churches would shake their heads at what a few of you come out with on this website
Still, I guess they are all wrong, and the few who are right spend much of their time on the internet
I don't get it, why are you people on the internet and not preaching what you believe?
If the ministers won't do it, you all need to stand up and do the preachin' for them, not in cyberspace but out there in the real world
Stand on the street corner, and vtell people if they believe Jesus is the son of God but not God Himself it is not enough, they'll go to hell with that belief

I don't think I could be any lower than I already am. A wretch is a wretch, I'm not so sure there are matters of degree.

If it is so important to believe Christ is God Himself, then that is testimony to the ministers in your churches woefully letting down their congregations
Now, now, don't be slanderin' people who had nothing to do with it.

I am assuming you believe that any salvational belief must from the pulpit be plainly and clearly preached.
I don't believe every sermon has to be the Gospel. If that is what you mean.

It is a ministers fundamental obligation to do so
It is a ministers obligation to preach the truth of scripture, as God has commanded him to do. One among many. It's part of being a shepherd. He helps to lead the congregation of sheep away from land unsuitable for grazing.

Would you care to comment as to why this does not happen(or rarely happens)?
In who's church?

Well that's a pretty lame response Jimmy
Everyone knows it is incumbent on every minister to plainly and clearly spell out from the pulpit what is and what is not acceptable belief unto salvation and the consequences of getting it wrong, but you can't properly address that can you.

So what made you come back to the thread?

There you go again worrying about what someone else does or doesn't do.

Why don't you investigate yourself...?
