I say: Some of the most gorgeous women out there don't really know what they've got in front of their eyes. Then I tell them I'm joking.
How this statement "comes across" to a man (a single man, especially) is often something like:HAPPY WIFE=HAPPY LIFE
How this statement "comes across" to a man (a single man, especially) is often something like:
"You had better keep me happy, or I am going to make your life miserable."
This is not love. This is not happiness. This is a threat. And, based on a man's perspective:
"Just trying to keep her happy is sometimes enough - in of itself - to keep him miserable. It is no wonder why men run from it, screaming..."
This 'equation' is most certainly not in line with the "proverbs 31 woman" approach to married life.
A more correct 'equation' would be something like:
Right-With-God-Husband-Who-Accepts-God-Given-Responsibility-And-Is-Doing-What-God-Wants-Him-To-Do + Right-With-God-Wife-Who-Accepts-God-Given-Responsibility-And-Is-Doing-What-God-Wants-Her-To-Do = Happy-Couple-Who-Share-God-Given-Blessing-And-Contentment-Together
Self-happiness comes from a proper relationship with God. Marital-happiness comes from what is shared in a relationship between husband and wife.
Self-happiness must come from a proper relationship with God. Marital-happiness must come from what is shared in a relationship between husband and wife.
You cannot mix the two. Each has its own proper place...
Each spouse has a 'private' relationship with God - as a person.
The husband and wife are also "as one" before God - as a couple.
The husband and wife have a relationship with each other - as a couple.
'HAPPY WIFE = HAPPY LIFE' is of the Devil. It is one-sided. It is self-serving. It defeats the God-given role directives for both husband and wife. It is one of the best tools Satan has for destroying a marriage.
True happiness can never come from the other spouse. A part of it comes from self and a part of it comes from what is shared between husband and wife.
Not the husband. Not the wife. It takes both.
The happiness is in "the sharing of two hearts together" - it does not come "from the other" - it comes from "sharing with the other"...
.
Yet again I had another person(teen girl) ask, Why aren't you married?
No exaggeration I get asked this question weekly. I'm so tired of this question.
In my mind it seems like people are implying that I appear normal but I must not be
normal because I am single.
Since I'm all out of answers that have any grace or courtesy, I would like to hear yours.

Yet some men don't know how to look past the physical and really get to know a lady.
Soem men may not want to persue a woman because she is not considered attractive according to society, and in turn get with a woman who is attractive in the physical sense without getting to know the real beauty they have. They're only with them for looks.
Remember: A quote is a quote is a quote...Im sorry you took my post as me actually believing that. It was actually a sarcastic joke. I thought you have interacted with me enough on here to realize I don't believe this way
Truth is without God in the relationship you won't have much happiness.
I don't disagree with that but would you really want to be with a man that didn't think you were attractive?

It is actually easy to do this while keeping the "bubble" -- just remove the latter part(s) of the tag:I PURPOSEFULLY captured the quote without any name attached to it for a generalized response...
[QUOTE="BarlyGurl, post: 922930"]I shouldn't think any Man would want to be boyfriend material.... be HUSBAND material.

You have to be a boyfriend before you can become a husband. Don't try to over think it.![]()
