(I need a break from serious, can you tell? haha Who's with me?)

These are the voyages of the Starship CC. Its mission: To boldly go where no thread has gone before, to seek out new Trekkies and Star Wars fans and new civilizations. Post away about your favorite characters/episodes and which you are a fan of/why..and we apologize in advance to all of you red shirts. :D

A very cool resource:
Memory Alpha - The Star Trek Wiki

I just saw this funny video of the popular game called GTA (Grand Theft Auto) where the gangsters were actually fighting with light sabres instead of just fists or knives. Its hilarious but a bit graphic though.

In the debate between which is better, lightsaber or phaser.......I think we all know lightsabers are the best :)

Now if the question is would you prefer a holodeck or a transporter, I have a harder time deciding  I probably lean towards a transporter, no customs or passports :D not that I spend any time thinking about these things.

Favourite character, in Star Trek probably Gul Dukat, I always liked how he was written to really believe his desire to be a kind dictator was something he deserved credit for, a character who was insane but didn't know it.

Not too big on Star Wars, the original trilogy is not so good, people tend to overlook that entire characterss were re-written between films and a lot doesn't make any sense, and the new trilogy, well it sucks. :p

Return of The Jedi - Missing Elevator Scene
(Footage of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the elevator on the way to the Emperor's throne room.)

Wyler... I forgive you. :P

Just kidding.

I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, myself. I love the basic "good vs. evil" basis. :) But my whole family is kinda a "star" family (Star Wars, Star Trek, Star Gate, plus others like Firefly and such.).

We need holodecks and transporters from Star Trek... Lightsabers and R2-D2 from Star Wars... and the Zat and Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson style) from StarGate. :D

LOL, wow. I never got into th whole star trek thing but i love the star wars movies even the new ones. Lightsabers are just plain awesome, im sorry. Dont really have a favorite character though.

Light sabers and force powers vs "Earl Grey tea - hot".
I'd hafta go with being a jedi knight over being a federation starship officer any day of the galactic standard week.

I like both! Except star wars is being drained so much for every penny it makes me dislike anything new relating to it. I never really got into either but both have great stories & scifi stuff... & stargate, & robo cop (even though he probably cost more than hes worth) & aliens... and The Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis.

I dig hairy guys :D LOL

Uh, would I be in trouble for saying neither? I was never into Star-anything growing up or even now. But I have to admit, wrapping paper tubes make awesome lightsabers or swords or whatever you want them to be.

Comes in with light saber and glow sand ..
May the force be with you ---

If I knew how to use a lightsaber like a jedi than lightsabers. But since I don't I will go with phasers.Oh wow Yoda just came in!! :D

I like Em all but I'm of the opinion that Star Gate Sg1 > Startrek

I am only a trekkie when it comes to "Star Trek - The Next Generation", but my favorite episode from that show is the one titled "Clues" (which I will link the trailer for below, although the trailer doesn't really do it justice).

In this episode, the Enterprise encounters a worm hole which renders the entire ship's crew unconscious (with the exception of Data). When the crew is revived, Data informs them they've been unconscious for 30 seconds. But as the day goes on, there are "clues" that are discovered that indicate they were unconscious for an entire day. But when Data is questioned about that apparent discrepancy with his claim that it was only for 30 seconds, it becomes clear that Data is hiding something.

That is all I will say, in case there are some here who have not seen that episode yet.

I'm not a Star Wars fan at all. However, I do really like Star Trek: Next Generation. I used to be really annoyed with Data, but by the end of season 1 I was a fan. :D

Yeah, Data grows on you, kind of like Scarlett Moss from the Diomedian System (okay, I've been watching Star Trek for way too long!!!).

Data stole everyone's lunch and blamed it on the wormhole.

LOL...now this is my kind of thread! Been a Star Wars nerd proudly since 1977! I've never been a big Star Trek fan, although I have seen (I think) all the major films, the original tv show & various tv spin off episodes from like Next Gen & stuff like that.
I also love all the expanded universe stuff of Star Wars & am actually looking forward to the SW films coming out. I wasn't sure how I'd feel with Disney taking over, but to be honest,if Lucas continued holding the reigns of the SW franchise,I think he's only cheapen it more so as he's done with Episodes I II III (all of which were good in some ways) Anyways...yes,yes..give me a lightsaber any day over a phaser!han&chewie-scribbles.jpg

In the battle between projectile weapons and swords, I typically choose projectile weapons. My ancestors were Welsh archers who humiliated Knights in shining armor. So yeah, I'll take a TOS era blaster, my genetic proclivity toward harming/killing things from a distance, and the element of surprise to school me some Jedis.

Klingon Bat'leths are pretty solid though.

Oh Scifi. I like prettymuch all of it except for Avatar. I mean seriously, Dave Cameron? You take my favorite element of Aliens (ie the Colonial Marines), make them the antagonists, and do not have the decency to end the movie with engulfing the world in a thermonuclear explosion? I'm disgusted.
