Chick Publications? Ack. They spread more hate. God is a one of Wrath, yes, but he's also one of Grace and Chick Publications largely miss that part and point out that pretty much everything is evil.

The theology of chick publications is horrible. Their methodology (tracts) isn't terrible, though it is badly out dated. We could discuss it if you like.

keen to discuss im always on the hunt to learn something. I like the fire and brimstone stuff because "Fear of the Lord is the beging of wisdom" and I hate how some pastors shy away from that stuff and paint God as a teddy bear I am sick of seeing people get converted and still living in sin the rest of their lives. They talk about alot of stuff that people tend to "hide their head in the sand" when I bring it up. I love truth and stand on it always. However God teaches me something new everyday and I am interested to hear what you have to say about CHICK. I am very cautious and as soon as something gives me "that feeling" I bail. So far I am realy impressed with the blatant honesty of CHICK. What are your thoughts?

As I mentioned before, Chick doesn't seem to understand that God has a multifaceted nature. God is one of Wrath but also Grace. I agree with you that some churches are much too soft but that doesn't mean we need to swing to the other extreme. It's not godly.

Jesus is a very loveable forgiving character and did something so kind for us I can barley fathom it HOWEVER I know God should be feared respected and obeyed at all costs. Hard for us humans to do but thats the way it should be. (In my opinion)

I'm not going to disagree with you there at all but Chick doesn't seem to love people to God, his works scare them away or they become the stuff of jokes.

anyhting in particular about their comics or books rub you up the wrong way? like a particular bit? all the stuff i have found so far i have found brutally honest and inspireing

Oh, the theatrics of it all. The scare-mongering (eg. demons coming out of rock concerts etc., Pope being the Anti Christ). Any music that is modern is of the devil! (according to Chick). The comics are dated and inaccurate, the theology is worrisome. They're just not good. A good way to love people to God, is to get to know them.

ok let this bake your noodle. back in Jesus times there were lots of deamons and witchcraft and such. Has the world gotten more evil or less evil since then? Do you think we have bound them all or we have just lost touch in identifying them? also what do you think about the revelation verse about scarlett and purple compared to the catholic preist uniform?

I agree with Tintin, jon. Chick seems to preach it so that everyone who does not agree with them is going to hell. that would be fine, if all they claimed is that you have to believe in Jesus. But they insist that you need to do WAY more. The music is just one problem. Outright condemnation of all catholics is another. They rub me the wrong way in the spirit.

It's actually strikingly similar to Jesus day. Much of the time between now and then has actually been better, now its about the same.

Purple was made from a rare Phoenician dye in that time. It was very expensive and the stuff only rulers could wear. Lesser purples would fade or bleed while true purple would last generations.

Purple is a sign of power, as are pearls and gold and scarlet and such. Both good and evil rulers would use them. It means nothing in particular that Cardinals and above wear purple. That purple is a sign of their rank, though purple is no longer so expensive.

It only means the woman in Rev 17:4 was quite powerful.

yeah i dont personally believe that catholics that are none the wiser and pray to God and learn the ways of Jesus are all going to hell but I do agree with them that is has strong links to ancient babylonian mysticism. theres a happy middle ground there. I dont bash catholics. but i do try to convert them if we get chatting

Jack Chic is part of the embarrassing christians club as i like to call them. People lie him are the reason christians get a bad rap for being hateful, backwards, and superstitious. I've gone to a rock concert and Im not in hell or covered in demons...oh look jack chick was wrong. Played D&D a few times and no one sacrificed me in a ritual and no demons jumped out at me. He uses scare tactics and is mostly just considered a joke. I feel bad people actually buy those tracts, i normally read them online for a laugh.

To be it seems like a picture of great worldly power. Catholicism may fit, but other things may fit as well. It may have been the might of pagan Rome in Johns own day, or it may be something the world has not yet seen.

You have a pretty decent attitude about dealing with Catholics though. Kudos.

the fact that you dont like them encourages me to use them. every single thing you post annoys me so i just ignore you. always belittling people and saying stupid things so yeah dont bother talking to me mate cheers
