I have to weigh in on this.
I'm a philosophy major in school, and I have a HIGHLY 'logical' rational kind of brain. I do not tolerate flimsy, silly arguments for anything, and I always, ALWAYS fight, if I have to. I'll defend what I think and believe in. So I truly understand where this question is coming from. I was a Christian, started taking pihlosophy, lost my way, called myself an atheist, and I never really believed that I actually believed in nothing. There was just too much ingrained in my mind about the world, it didn't make sense it would be here without the creator.
Why Jesus, though?
Because the Bible is accurate. the Bible is love, and I choose to believe in it. I choose to have faith in the message.
Doesn't mean I enjoy being trolled by crackpots, doesn't mean I hate science or whatever. I'm very much into science and it does intersect with religion.

I want to tell you that the kind of proof you seek (as I was told on this very site) cannot be found. If you want to, you can start by at least opening up your mind to the idea, and simply have faith. You have faith, and God will reveal in time. If you can't at least try that...I don't know what to tell you, but I do believe that more and more people will turn to Jesus soon, as things will start to become every more clear.

I think perhaps one of the saddest things about todays society is that many people have forgotten how to believe. With the faith of a child. What's wrong with believing in something good even if you think it's impossible? Having hope. Hope for mankind, for your dreams, for miracles. And there is hope. And the reason there is hope is because God is real.

Have you ever heard of Josh Garrels? If not you should look up his song, Farther Along. The video is a testiment to God's glory. This earth and all of it's creatures were given to us out of love. Just like you were given life out of love. You were made to love. You were shown mercy and recieved grace because of love. God is love. And love is a spirit. The spirit of love is within you when you accept Jesus Christ as your savior. It creates, it heals, it strengthens, it comforts, it forgives, it appreciates, and it teaches you to do the same.

Miracles. Why do they exist? They give people hope. And in a world that loves to destroy itself, hope is something a lot of people need. Here's the testimony of someone I know that might help. I wonder why the skeptic asks those who believe to prove that God exists. Maybe deep down he really wants to believe.

Im not going to try convince you he exists because deep deep within your soul you probably know he exists but your mind refuses to comprehend it because life as an athiest would be easier for a while at least. If you want proof however Go look at pictures of the ark of the covenant and read up on the history behind it i think you will find it very interesting. You have to make the choice if you believe it or not.

I completely understand your doubt. I too have struggled with faith. Don't you know and that even Peter when he saw Jesus himself in front of him, told him that he would have to see the holes in his hands to see that it was him that hung on that cross. We as humans do not understand the simple concept that space goes on forever. We don't understand that! We cannot understand that one creator made all this.

It sounds like you are a realist looking for faith. People like you (of which I am one of the them), love factual data to backup the truth. Ok, so here goes. Have you read Case for Christ? This is an amazing book written by Lee Strobel, an atheist, who went out on a journey to completely destroy the facts of the Christian faith. He met with many theologians, archaeologists, and historians to disprove the fact that Jesus was just some guy who lived many years ago.Wow! What a journey he went on and ended up proving that he could not disprove anything! He became a Christian, totally unexpected even for him, Ok, here's another idea. The earth should not be rotating or orbiting in our solar system. Scientists have found that our gravity should not be sustaining our orbit. Google Franci Chan. Wow! Another great resource for understanding that the place we call home scientifically should not exist. Am currently reading the book Reason for God, belief in an age of skepticism. Wow! Another cool book, perfect for people like you and me! Starts the book with quote from Dart Vader, " I find your lack of faith disturbing".Gotta read this book! Really thought provoking! Hungry, asking questions and doubting is the first step towards your journey. If you truly are curious, I mean truly curious start searching and educating yourself. You will find the answers you are looking for. Read from Christian authors, watch shows on history channel that deals with real stuff found in places the Bible talks about. That kinda stuff intrigues me. If you have found Dead Sea scrolles in a cave in the Middle East, real tangible items that we can see touch and feel, how much more data do you need? Is it lack of faith or simply you don't want to believe. I believe God himself is talking to you Hungry, the Holy Spirit will continue to search for you until you stop and listen to the whispering in your ear. ggod luck Hungry, I truly hope you meet Jesus and I can't wait to meet you in Heaven. They probably don't have the "scientific proof" in order to make such a claim, but they get it from these verses:

Genesis 1:27- God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.


Psalm 148:5- Let them praise the name of the Lord, For He commanded and they were created.

Colossians 1:16- For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

All of the verse are from the NASB version (I prefer.)

Yet science has yet to prove there isn't a God. They claim the earth is billions of years old. Therefore, for "billions" of years they have yet to disprove His existence.
They will never prove it. Just when they think they have people then realize their theories are based upon other theories which are based upon other theories and theories are not fact.
