God gives us a choice. He gives us free will. Satan cant MAKE us sin--we choose to.

You are right we cannot EARN our salvation, but we CAN lose it by making bad choices over and over staying entrenched in sin instead of following God's plan, listening to the HS leading us and TRYING to conquere our sins.

This is what is means to work through your salvation with fear and trembling. The word work means you have to actually DO something.
Philippians 2:12-13, Paul writes, “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his purpose"

Read more: What does it mean to work out salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)?

So, HSfilledlady, Satan is more powerful than God because when you make a wrong choice then Satan can take away your salvation because it IS Satan who wants you to make that wrong choice. The verse that states," work out your own salvation with fear and trembling," simply means to do the work God want you to do BECAUSE OF your salvation , not to get it or keep it. We do the work God wants us to because when we got saved, we became his representatives on earth sinc eJesus is no longer here physically. We have to prove to the world that we have salvation by working for God. We arew forgiven daily of our "mistakes' because God knows we are Not going to live life on this earth without making mistakes. That is why Paul said'" If we say we have NO sin , we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." If what you say is true , and I am not trying to be sarcastic when I say this, then you are not spirit filled very often. God covers sin in three ways. He said "the very THOUGHT of foolishness is sin"covering our thought life,"transgression of the law is sin," covering when we do wrong, and "to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin, covering when we don't do right. So, we sin every day in some way . So if you could lose salvation also,God would not be the all-knowing god he is either. He would be sitting up in heaven waiting on us to sin (not knowing when we would) and when we did, He would be taking a pencil and erasing uor name out of the book of life. Then He would be waiting on us to get saved "again"(not knowing when that would take place either) so He could put it back in there. The God I know of the King James Bible is not like that AT ALL. If any part of this offends you,I am sorry. But it is all scriptural. I know because I obeyed 2nd Timothy 2:25 and found out by making sure what I believed about once saved-always saved is scriptural and is aprroved of God,not man.

I'm sorry . That scripture is 2nd Timothy 2:15. I apologize for saying 2nd Timothy 2:25. I want to say it right when it comes to quoting scripture.

The Lord is near!

Psa 145:18 The Lord is near all those who call on Him, all those who call on Him in truth.
Psa 145:19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
Psa 145:20 The Lord watches over all those who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy.
Yes the Lord is near; He is near to those who call on Him in truth, which means out of a pure heart, an obedient faith, along with a humble spirit that has been absolutely broken in repentance!
To fear God is to know Him, to respect His awesome power over sin and temptation, and also to obey and keep His commands as He wills His true followers to do!
And when the broken, repentant soul cries out as the whole city of Nineveh did, He will save them as they cried out for mercy and forgiveness because they were cut to the heart as to their great sin and disobedience to almighty God!
And now the best of the best of God! He watches over and protects His true saints, which are those who love and fear Him supremely, and have come to Him on His terms as commanded, which simply is repentance unto Him, followed by faith (obedience) unto His son Jesus Christ!
Act 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
But there is a catch here, since many who profess Christ as their savior have failed to understand. Those who have failed to come to God on His terms, through the repentance process, and are still in great bondage to the world and sin, God will destroy, which doesn’t mean a slap on the wrist, to all who think you can be IN sin, and IN Christ at the same time!
The wicked are simply the ones who have the pride and arrogance to call themselves followers of Christ, but openly admit they are addicted to many vile sins, or admit they struggle constantly by falling into willful disobedience to God, trampling on the precious blood of Christ over and over again!
God is no respecter of any person, but gives His grace and mercy to the humble, who are not perfect, BUT perfectly obey His commands, keeping themselves unspotted from the world, and any willful sin and disobedience!
Psa 117:1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
Psa 117:2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD!

I am not offended at all. I think you are misunderstanding almost everything I am saying.

You said: "Satan is more powerful than God because when you make a wrong choice then Satan can take away your salvation because it IS Satan who wants you to make that wrong choice."

I did not say this and I hope you are not saying it either. Of course Satan can't take away your salvation. I agree. I am not sure how you got this idea from what I said.

Satan tempts and influences us to make the wrong choice....Then People choose. Obviously God is more powerful than satan, but God has given everyone free will and people don't always make the right choices. And some of us have the Holy Spirit to guide us also in the right direction. This can also influence the CHOICE people make. We will be judged based on our choices, what we have done with our free will here on earth during our lives.

And if anyone keeps choosing the same sin over and over and over without repenting, searing their conscious against their sin God will eventually say: Enough already! and He will not put up with it, at some point a person can most definitely be removed from salvation. That is scriptural. Whether it is fun to think about or not -- it is true. I have cited several scriptural examples.

When you said "We arew forgiven daily of our "mistakes' because God knows we are Not going to live life on this earth without making mistakes." Did you mean to say God forgives all our sins automatically? If so that is not true at all. God forgives our sins AFTER we repent and ASK him. Then He throws them into the sea of forgetfuless and remembers them no more.

Please do not attack me personally when you reply. Just because I choose not to take up an offense, does not mean you werent being offensive. When you say what I have posted is NOT scriptural please post the scripture to which you refer along with my quote.

No, if you are born again, you cannot be lost.
God cannot save you and then loose you if you are born again. God never fails.
You're right. God never fails. It's us who fail through our God-given free will. We CAN be lost again through ignorance and rejection of God.

I agree with you on this, but we must remember most who profess Christ came into the kingdom through NO real repentance, they made a confession they were a sinner, then received Jesus, which is not the true gospel as I stress.

Without repentance there is no remissions of sins, and most think Jesus took their place and wrath on the cross so all their sins, and most mean fornication, drunkeness, adultery, porn watching, just read some of these posts and you can see that the gospel accprding to godliness is long gone, replaced with a liberal, do nothing gospel, allowing vile sinners into the kingdom. This is not the narrow way!

Willful sin against God hardens the heart, and it takes one sin to loose your salvation, not doing it many times as most teach, so sin is the issue which is wilful disobedience and rebellion against God.

But most who profess Christ love to walk in the light and dark at the same time, they love to call themselves the Romans wretch, and chief of sinners, then blame their sin on thier false sin nature, you are correct, God made man upright, but he choose to disobey God, all mankind has the ability to STOP thier vile sins against God!Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

No!

Let's be glad because we are walking within the Kingdom of God! Halleluja! We are walking there like children as Children of God and Saints! Halleluja! And we will never die! Halleluja! :)

Do not be sad! Do not talk everything over! Just let's rejoice! Soon all the earth will be Christian and the Kingdom of God reach everyone! Halleluja! Don't be downcast, be glad and rejoice and be merry all the short time we will live on this earth! How can you by worrying change anything?

Ecclesiastes 11
9
Be happy, young
man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you to judgment.
10So then,
banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.

Philippians 4
6Do not be anxious
about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. 7And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus.

Luke 12
25Who of you by worrying
can add a single hour to his life? 26Since you cannot do
this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

It is just a matter of perspective as to which side is real. God alone knows who is and who is not saved. So from God's perspective, sure, once saved always saved works out just fine. From Man's perspective things are not clear at all. We are given a free will and make all sorts of choices, good and bad choices, all day long. From man's perspective we can easily chose to serve God or not. We see some who become Christians and fall away after a few years.

HSfilledlady, Ok. I will go into more detail. When I said God forgives us daily, this is what I meant. When we are tempted to sin ,you are right, God does let us CHOOSE whether to yield to the sin or not.this is why God said ,"no temptation hath taken you but such as is common to man, BUT God is faithful who will NOT allow you to be tempted aboved that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it." When we are convicted by the Holy Spirit of sin,we do have to ask for forgiveness. When I said God forgives us daily, I meant we have to ask him daily to forgive us. But we will feel conviction until we ask for forgiveness. A s far as what you said about the going on and on with the same sin, that is two fold. If a person can sin continually and there is no conviction and it doesn't bother them AT ALL. then according to my King James Bible, they are not saved. God said ," if ye be without chastisement, as all (meaning the saved peopleonly are partakers of , ye are bastards(not saved ) and not sons."And another thing , a saved person is not going to backslide forever either. They will either repent and ask the Lord to forgive them (not get saved again) or ,as God said,'Deliver such an one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord." iN other words God will not allow you to grieve the Holy Spirit forever. So what God does is He allows your physical body to die so the Holy Spirit will no longer be grieved and your soul (which is actually what is saved to begin with, not your flesh) to go on to heaven. You see, it is your soul that is saved , not your flesh. So, to go into more detail about satan being more powerful than God . Satan tempts to make bad choices. We decide whether to make that choice or not. If we decide to do what satan is tempting us to do,then we are committing an act of sin. Then if we lose our salvation because we decided to do what satan says and make the bad decision , then satan can take the salvation away because we would not be doing what God said. So if satan can take our salvation away. then he IS more powerful than God. I hope that clarified that for you. If you are still confused I will be happy to go into even more detail.

Again, HSFilledlady, I did not mean any personal attacks and I apologize if what I said was taken that way. Like Paul said," if i can sit at the table and eat meat. and it offend my brother , I will not eat it." Here's another thing to think about. If you could lose salvation, then God would not be the ALL KNOWING God he says he is. God would be sitting up in heaven with a pencil and eraser waiting on you to get saved(not knowing when that would be ) and then take the pencil and erase you name out of the book of life. Then God would be sitting in heaven waiting on you to get saved "again" (not knowing when that would be either). This scenerio and the one that said satan was more powerful than God would have to be true for a person to lose their salvation . I know you think I misunderstood you. What our lifestyle has to do with it is this . Two things ,To benefit us at the judgement seat of Christ. Second, to make beloievers of others. Not to get or keep our salvation .If it were to keep it , then God would have lied when He said Galations 2:22, for I do not frustrate the grace of God , for if righteousness come by the law (or how we live)then Christ is dead in vain. Now , where the Bible talks about "faith without works is dead" it is talking about proving we have salvation to the world because they are not going to take our word for it. One of the evidences of our salvation is that the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin.A lost person does not have that. Jesus paid our sin debt asGod said ,"once for all", and we are saved once for all. I used to believe that you could be saved any time you wanted to as well. But by obeying 2nd Timothy 2:15, I found out that wasn't true . I found out the same way that salvation can't be taken away.

Can a born again Christian ever lose his salvation? - By Terry Watkins
Yes, Terry Watkins. Contrary to your ridiculous and dangerous article, a born again Christian can very easily lose their salvation.

Once Saved, Always Saved?

Mark 13:13: and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Romans 11:22: Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.

1 Corinthians 9:27: but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

2 Peter 2: 20-22: For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overpowered, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and the sow is washed only to wallow in the mire.

1 Corinthians 10:12: Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

Galatians 5:4: You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Hebrews 6:4-6: For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt. (Once saved, but then lost their salvation)

Hebrews 10:26-29: For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries. A man who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace?

1 Samuel 10:6: Then the spirit of the LORD will come mightily upon you (Saul), and you shall prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
Then....
1 Samuel 16:14: Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.

Philippians 2:12: Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Of course the parable of the sower....
Matthew 13:18-23: "Hear then the parable of the sower. When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart; this is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the delight in riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty."

Revelation 2:4-5: Yet I hold this against you: you have lost the love you had at first. Realize how far you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

1 Cor 6:9-10 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Luke 15:32: "It was fitting to make merry and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.'" (He REPENTED, therefore exists once again in the Father's good grace)

Salvation requires a real response from us in our lives, a response which goes well beyond a one-time salvation prayer "accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior".
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."
Our Lord then goes on to list good works which reflect a true faith.

God gave man free will. Once saved then a person can later reject God and freely forsake their salvation. If someone has a change of heart after accepting Christ then God does not force them to spend eternity with Him. A person is not bound by chains (so to speak) to salvation, but can rather simply walk away from it. Mortal sin also separates us from God, and if we wish to be saved again then we must repent of that sin, otherwise remain separated from God.

Mortal sin also separates us from God, and if we wish to be saved again then we must repent of that sin, otherwise remain separated from God.
If this is true,Maynard, Then God is sitting up in heaven with a pencil and eraser waiting on us to sin so He can take our name out of the book of life and also waiting on us to so-called "get saved agaiin" , not knowing when we will do either. No, losing salvation is a ridiculous idea. The God of the Bible is ALL KNOWING and ALL MIGHTY. And also If you could lose your salvation, the satan would be more powerful than God because satan is who wants you to sin and when you did ,he could take it away from you.If Salvation could be lost by sinning then we would all have to spend every minute of every day on our knees getting saved all the time, because of our sinful thoughts , when we do wrong and when we don't do right. God said," the very THOUGHT of foolishness is sin,"To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not ,to him it is sin,and "the transgression of the law is sin." So, we would spend every minute of our lives praying and asking forgiveness. We couldn't eat , sleep , got to work or anything like that. Now God does expect some work and obedience out of us ,but that is because of our salvation, not to get it or keep it. If we could live good enough to get it OR keep it,then Galations 2:22 that states,"For I do not frustrate the grace of God , for if righteousnes come by the law ,. then Christ is dead in vain." Simply put, if we live good enough to get ourselves saved and keep ourselves saved, then Christ came and died in vain. If I thought I could lose my salvation , I would be living in fear every day of my life because, like everyone else who is saved, I sin every day of my life. And all sin is sin in God's eyes.Speeding is no worse than having a bad thought. And I have to ask God to forgive me every day. But I know for a 100% Biblical fact I will never lose my salvation. My favorite scripture is 2nd Timothy 2:15,"Study to show thyself approved unto God , a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth."

So you hold to the false doctrine of universalism?

there are many problems with your reasoning. one is that the word 'free' does not exist in the greek text. it is a gift, but with strings attached! this gift is never given without confessing and forsaking all sin, and making a 100% committment to serve god with all your heart mind sould and streanth! The bible tells us that it is knowing God that is salvation, and that we can only know god by obeying Him. So without obediance to the will of God; there is no salvation!

John 17:3
3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
NKJV
1 John 2:3-6
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
NKJV
John 14:15
If you love Me, keep My commandments.
NKJV
John 15:9-10
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
NKJV
Mark 12:29-30
29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.
NKJV
1 John 5:2-3
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.
NKJV
2 John 6
6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments.
NKJV

I understand your reasoning, but a gift is not a gift if it has strings attached. A gift is something given to someone without payment.

Wow! this is a very poor analogy of what Maynard said. It DOES NOT mean that "God is sitting up in heaven with a pencil and eraser waiting on us to sin so He can take our name out of the book of life." It's ludicrous to even THINK that what Maynard said means this! Unlike yourself, Maynard's comment simply means that salvation from God isn't something to be taken lightly. Your interpretation on scripture about this comes accross as "do what you like people! We're saved anyway. Whatever you do, God can't take our salvation from us because He's already promised it to us, even if you offend Him directly." You're right. We do sin every day of our lives, which means we MUST repent every day of our lives and show the ALMIGHTY how sorry we are every day of our lives. God never gives us a task that too hard. Its not impossible to live without sin, so we must strive for perfection which God wanted for us. Being weak is no excuse for imperfection. If we sin in full knowledge at the time that the act goes against God, and continue in that act, then we have BROKEN THAT CONNECTION WITH GOD INTENTIONALLY therefore losing our salvation. God DOES NOT OWE US SALVATION. He gave it to us freely, it is us who lose it on our own accord. No excuses, champ. God bless.

If this is true, Maynard, Then God is sitting up in heaven with a pencil and eraser waiting on us to sin so He can take our name out of the book of life..
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
-Rev 22:19

That verse indicates that someone whose name was in the book of life can be easily removed. Call it God's pencil and eraser if you like, but it is what it is.

And again...
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."
- Rev 3:5

This indicates that He could indeed "blot out his name", though will not do so to "he that overcometh".

Pencil and eraser? Call it what you wish. It is what it is.

And again...

"Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous."
- Psalm 69:28

For something to be "blotted out" then it had to exist there before.

There's God's eraser again, tending to the Book of Life.

Oh wait, here it is again...

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."
- Exodus 32:33

There's more, but let's move on...

This is a war for souls that we are in. You believe that simply because you said the sinners prayer at 14 that your salvation is assured and Satan gives up then on destroying your soul. The body of scripture in its entirety however clearly contradicts this mistaken belief.

There is venial sin which warrants only temporal punishment, and then there is mortal sin which separates us from God, kills spiritual life, and is only forgiven through true repentance, confession, and contrition:
"If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and Godwill give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal."

1 John 5:16

Here is the blessed St. Jerome commenting on this [A.D. 393]..
"There are venial sins and there are mortal sins. It is one thing to owe ten thousand talents, another to owe but a farthing. We shall have to give an accounting for an idle word no less than for adultery. But to be made to blush and to be tortured are not the same thing; not the same thing to grow red in the face and to be in agony for a long time. . . . If we entreat for lesser sins we are granted pardon, but for greater sins, it is difficult to obtain our request. There is a great difference between one sin and another" (Against Jovinian 2:30 [A.D. 393]).

In spite of a mountain of biblical scripture which clearly contradicts the false doctrine of "once saved, always saved". OSAS is false teaching and heresy. Lean not on your own understanding.

You should read all of it then, not just the part that appeals to your personal beliefs...

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place [spreading false teachings], and they destroy the faith of some. "The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord MUST turn away from wickedness.
1 Tim 2:15-19

Early Church writing. First generation after Christ [A.D. 70].
Didache:
"Watch for your life’s sake. Let not your lamps be quenched, nor your loins unloosed; but be ready, for you know not the hour in which our Lord comes. But you shall assemble together often, seeking the things which are befitting to your souls: for the whole time of your faith will not profit you, if you be not made complete in the last time" (Didache 16 [A.D. 70]).

Justin Martyr:
"Eternal fire was prepared for him who voluntarily departed from God and for all who, without repentance, persevere in apostasy"
(Against Heresies 5:26 [A.D. 156]).

May the peace and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, savedsince14.

You know, Maynard, even if someone did go by the rule of "sola-scriptura", its all there and can't be argued, isn't it? I find it frustrating how some people just use the parts of the Holy Book that suits them, then start a whole new theory! Prayer tonight will be focused on that I think! Peace to you, my brother! May the Lord Christ Jesus bring the rest of our brothers and sisters home

So you hold to the false doctrine of universalism?
What is false on the word of God? Do you not believe in His words:

Isaiah 45:23

New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]23 [/SUP]By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
