Do you know anyone who is a compulsive liar and kleptomaniac? What do you think is the right way to deal with them?

a dangerous combination. I would first try to protect myself falling into a trap. Pray for the person as well.

Christian or not?

She claims to be one but the way she acts makes me doubt it. I think whenever she's in a great deal of stress, it will trigger her to take things. All i can say is that she needs God. It's so painful to love someone like her.

I'd avoid them.

Friendship (or any relationship) is about give and take. If someone takes more from you than they give back (like taking advantage if your trust), it's time to reconsider that friendship.

I knew a couple that I literally could not avoid and cut contact with. Guard your words around them, guard your heart and assume they're lying (it sounds horrible, but if they ask, be honest, tell them you can't trust them). And don't leave out anything that you don't want to go missing. Keep a close eye on them around your stuff, and if you see them steal from someone else don't be afraid to call them out.

Don't believe them and keep them away from your goods. Distance and prayer for them are good too.

I didn't steal but lied alot over anything so listen if they want to vent don't loan anything and meet them for coffee at the park places just not ur home. don't go to the store with them other wise if they steal security will deem u guilty by association

Matthew 18:15-17 sounds like a good start. This plus healthy boundaries seems to go a very long way in most situations.

Another option is to very publicly loan them slightly more than they are likely to pay back, but not so much that you aren;t willing to give it to them... and watch them stop coming around.

if you know about their behavior and say nothing, then you are condoning it. I very much sympathize with you though, my brother is a compulsive liar and when I confront him on his behavior he flips out and will swear to the end that he is telling the truth. I love him, hes my brother but it very difficult to bring it to his attention.

Depends on their relationship with Christ and your relationship with them.

I wouldn't trust them any farther than I can throw them. Set up some VERY clear boundaries and stand your ground. Be prepared for the chance they'll guilt you, push your buttons, and maybe even throw a temper tantrum. Much like a child, once they find they can't manipulate you, they'll move on.

And just to be sure, I'd get the track & field coach from the local high school to give you an accurate measure of how far you can throw them. Remember, it takes 30 samples to constitute it being statistically significant. Just to be on the safe side, I'd throw them at least 35 times, but the more data points you have, the more accurate your forecasting.

Interesting! What about height? Does that come into play with the data points? I tend to kick objects up but I have trouble kicking them far...

A good trajectory will result in only sufficient loft on the y-axis as needed to overcome gravity for a maximum x-axis travel. Any excess travel along the y-axias would detract from what could be achieved on the x-axis.

Indeed, indeed. But how do I maximize trajectory? Should I create a computer model?

perhaps the practicum of throwing smaller offenders first then work up to this individual, but then I used to do differential equations in my head, so whatever method works best for you.

thanks for the advise guys but what if you are related by blood?

I knew some one like that, it's called tell them they are wrong, then get away from them, because they don't change to easy.
