I'm going to derail the thread momentarily but DuchessAimee, what is the quote from your signature line from? I hear it in my head, I KNOW I know where it's from, but for the life of me I just can't think of what.

OK, but just remember... I may fall asleep. It's nothing personal. If anything it means I'm at ease enough to stumble into the peace of sleep. Yall just wake me up for the good parts, ok?

I heard that Wreck It Ralph was a movie I should see. Perhaps that...

With the right company, I'd be content to watch test patterns or old school UHF snow.... ...<sigh> long gone are the days of clicker knobs.

If it did somehow magically happen, it would mean that first we would have had enough Other times of hanging out IRL that we were all caught up on live conversation enough that the crew could Sit Down & Watch a movie. I think I like the implications of that... other than the sheer improbability of it occurring.

That awkward moment when this morning when our study of the book of Judges led to a discussion as to what, if anything, Jephthah was thinking when he made his vow in Chapter 11, Verse 30 & 31 ("30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord: “If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the Lord’s, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.”NIV)...and a dear sweet old great grandmother in the class (the same elder's wife referenced in another post elsewhere) says, "Maybe he thought it would be his wife and he could get rid of her that way." and I blurt out from the opposite side of the room, through the laughter, "Thank you, (woman's name). I really wanted someone else to be the one to say that." and the laughter doubles, as the class all knows my situation and the woman that I cannot really yet call my ex-wife, but I still wonder if I am out of line.

For what it is worth, and that may be naught, I did try to apologize for that statement, but was told by several that there was no apology to anyone needed.

Never heard of such a thing... though I did attend a Christian divorce support group for a while.

Now that would be an interesting night! Seeing everyone for the first time alive and in person- hearing them speak! Oh dear! I've only heard Liamson's voice from his videos. Who knows what ya'll sound like!

Of course you're invited! At least you would be at MY movie get together! :D I have a moderately secret list of people I'd like to meet from CC (only one person knows who's on the list, so maybe it's highly confidential, whatevs) and you're on it, Arwen! You bring a movie and a snack popular in Canada. My living room is a pretty big size, so I think everyone would fit.

Yes, it's terrible. I read about it being a new 'sensation' in Australia. I believe Christian divorce support groups are another kettle of fish and are perfectly reasonable.

I've read about the same thing here in the States, too, TinTin... complete with "Divorce Registries" (like wedding registries except obviously for the divorcees), as well as... I'm not sure what the term is they're using, but pretty much a "honeymoon" to supposedly celebrate the divorce.

I suppose it's an awkward moment when you're not happy about your divorce at all, but rather live under a rock for several years?
