I used to laugh at (0)that awkward moment when I would see people that had "Just Divorced" shoe polished on the back window of their car... until I met (1)that awkward moment where I was 10 months into a stalled divorce wondering what I was waiting for.
So I asked my lawyer what needed to happen next to keep things moving along and I was immediately confronted with (2)that awkward moment when my lawyer asks me if there is some reason I need to rush my divorce - a girlfriend, a mistress, a woman about to have my baby...or who knows what other possible reason! I was pleased that I could tell her that I had no reason to rush!!! My lawyer then said that it might be in my kids best interest for us to take the wait and see approach to see what else the other party might mess up. Along came (3) that awkward moment when I found out she did, followed by (4) the awkward moment when I did what I needed to about that, and the (5+y=x) awkward Months where we waited for the next cog in the wheel of the state's response to that, and now the (x+z=w)awkward period where all that can be done is waiting to see if the DA is bringing charges and what those might be.

Don't ask me about #3.

Let your adversary talk first,
and when they're finished
Let 'em talk some more

awh, it's just a little multivariate algebra because I lost count of the moments. guess I had something on my mind that kept me from counting them properly.
;)
I appreciate you saying that. I want folks to know I didn't post it with the intent to be "fishing." It was just on my mind.

That awkward moment when you're eating oreo cookies and you see an oreo crumb on the very clean table in front of you so you pop it in your mouth and find out its not an oreo crumb.

You blessed me with laughter today (in part because I've done it too). Much needed laughter.
Thank you.

I just added to my reply that I think it was a piece of hamburger from the previous night. :)
While that still sounds gross, I'm glad that's all it was. My mind was going to much darker places (mouse poop, for one). :p

Yikes!! I'm glad to say we don't have any mice around here, or other pests. Just ants sometimes. :D

That awkward moment when you think you can totally fix a leaning fence post all by your big-girl self, only to end up knocking half of the fence down while some deer stand 50 feet away staring at you.

And judging.

And you tell them to go get a life.

Hmm...I do have an awful lot of very awkward moments. And weird one-sided discussions with judgmental animals.

I was thinking a dead tiny cockroach. You and I are too much alike.

Everyone has mice. You just don't know it. Fortunately, if you live in a clean house, surrounded by owls, eagles and feral cats, the rodent population should be controlled.
