I think the ''rockers'' here should do a word study of the word holy in both the new and old testaments. Might be eye opening and convicting :)
 
baptist u just are changing the subject i told you about the lyrics and u just dismissed that. and holy means set apart from God i'm still wondering why you said that it has nothing to do with this sorry.
 
baptist listen to your self how does it not that song has amazing lyrics no u basically saying God doesnt help us etc

Where do you get that from, there are plenty of songs that do. maybe you don't get them or you don't like the genre it doesn't mean it isnt holy. it just means you don't like it

what kind of question is that, do you know the history of Rock music ?. it encompasses around 50 years. thousands of bands have there been dark influences in rock, yes. have there been good influences in Rock yes. It didn't matter where it came from it matters what it is. especially when sung by Christian bands, to ask a question that there is no possible answer to is ridiculous.

Just like you apparently ingored my first few posts on this topic, where I explained why I think that music is neutral. It's just the the lyrical content, the"lyrics", the isrealites were singing which were not good.
 
Much of the Christian" or "white" metal is just as demonic as the black metal, so make sure you know what you listen to

I do however not think that the music in itself is good or evil, the meaning behind it is. - Usually reflected in the lyrics...
When I feel down, far from God, or angry, the calm music will ususally just make me more upset, because a lot of it is too happy. Then I need someone singing about how life is miserable for a while, before i can go on to the happy stuff.

Look at the lyrics, and look at what then band represents (ex in their CD covers). Thats what matters, not if they scream or not.

Hm, thats news to me. I mean there are not that many metal bands which contain christians. What makes you say that "much" of them aren't genuine?

Besides, Extol is great! I only got their Blueprints album but they play(ed) amazing stuff and had really good lyrics!

by "much of them" I mean that many people online tag bands as white metal, but when you listen to the lyrics, they are only about killing the "bad guys" and not about giving glory to God (don't remember any specific examples right now though, just that I got a few nasty suprises now and then :p)


- Yeah. There is a small metal/ rock only music store in town, think I'll go there soon and see if they have any of their CDs there. (Ripped music isn't quite the same :p)

A lot of the reason I listen to christian Death Metal or Unblack metal (I hate the "white" or "life" metal monikers) is because the lyrics are much more genuine and honest than in most christian music. For example, the Extol lyrics you just shared. There's also a lot more of a ministry behind it than with CCM music. Much (but not all) of the Black and Death metal lifestyles are extremely dark, those people need Jesus, and they're not going to find Him by people getting preachy with them, or by coming across a Hillsong album. However, if they were to find some music that they were familiar with, and that spoke of Christ's love and met them on a level they understand, and they had people praying for them, it's only a matter of time before the Holy Spirit does His work.

Many christian Unblack Metal bands are not in it for the money as much as they are in it for the ministry. I messaged with a guy from Europe who's music I really liked, and he straight up told me that his purpose for doing that kind of music was to reach people. He was more than willing to talk about his faith, and everything he did with his music project was submitted in prayer.

There is absolutely no biblical basis for calling any type of music evil. Any bible defense someone has for it is extremely feeble and cracks underneath the weight of numerous other verses, not to mention it's typically a verse taken out of context and used with extreme prejudice liberty
