Hello everyone (or everyone who will read this). I am struggling with many things in life. But a major one is this. I cannot find a kind caring loving body of believers. I hate this. No one cares about me. But I know that many people experience this. It seems obvious to me that we are living in the Laodicean Church age. A book by Ray Steadman (God's Final Word: A Commentary on the Book of Revelation) is the first place I have learned that the letters to the churches were actually prophecies about the different ages of the future church. The last letter written was to the church in Laodicea. I have just read the Message translation of these verses, and it seems very appropriate to copy/past it here.

Revelation 3:15-17 says, “I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless."

Does that sound like the church for anyone else?

I absolutely do not find love in the Church that Jesus died for. Please share your opinion with me. Maybe someone could even share love as well.

Do you have even a few friends who will care as Jesus cared? Start a home group. That's church too.

Love is giving the lost the truth, the bitter truth, it will turn off many, and love at the expense of Gods truth is just pure vanity! Flee from the organized church unless they preach the truth, and if you think its unloving when someone warns you of the wrath to come on the professing Church, then you have been greatly deceived!

They will not endure sound doctrine!
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
I am seeing this powerful warning from the Lord through His beloved servant Timothy, coming into fruition today! The time has come and has been here for quite a while I am afraid, where the professing Christian world will NOT endure sound doctrine, nor even seek it with all their heart and soul as commanded. They will seek out their worldly pleasures, pastimes, and worst of all their favorite bible pundit that tell them what they want to hear, and NOT what can transform their souls into true saints for God!
They form groups, who love to cast dispersions on the few who love them enough to give them the truth, the bitter truth, which is very difficult for them to swallow yet alone digest in their minds that has been polluted by the ways of the world, and filling their itching ears with many lies and errors telling them that they are soundly saved, while they still wallow in sin, worldliness and disobedience!
They have totally turned from the truth, and hate any that is given to them, but will turn on to all the fables and lies being sold today, they are goats being led to the slaughter, as they think they are at peace with God, when in reality they are dead to Him and His word!
They refuse to come out and be separate, but instead encourage others who are searching to join them in their games, refuse to give them truth, because they cannot give them what they do not possess!
But the few who bring them the harsh truth are despised, and this is a tale tale sign what mindset they are in as they snarl, and cast dispersions on the bearers of truth, calling them names, while they themselves are still carnal sold under sin!
So this shows me how much they love their worldly ways and pet sins, where any truth that can transform their souls is cast out the door along with any discernment, conviction or humility to receive the implanted word that can save them from their demise!
I praise God for the few who can see through this strong delusion God promised to send to those who do not love the truth, and are coming out of the spirit of error into the spirit of truth, accepting the harsh reality that the few of the few will be saved as predicted by Jesus Himself!
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I can't. I live with my mother and our home is a mess. She would not be comfortable having people over.

But that doesn't answer my original post. What do you think about the days we are living?

Umm... Where in the world do you get "if you think its unloving when someone warns you of the wrath to come on the professing Church, then you have been greatly deceived!"
I tell you that I experience exactly what Jesus said the church would be like in the last days... Are you saying that the church has the right to be as heartless as she is? More than "reproving me" you are proving my point.

We are definitely living in the days of the last church. Look At what is being preached in most mainline churches. It is definitely not the gospel. Many churches are playing secular music, They have bars and pool tables. They rarely even mention Jesus and the cross. This is the apostate church. If you will notice notice in this passage, that Christ is standing in the midst of the churches, But when talking about this one. He says " behold I stand at the door and knock". Then, He appeals to the individual. Because the church no longer accepts Him. But rather, their philosophy and psychology. Humanistic teachings. Problems are solved by doing works. Such as the book written by rick warren with 40 days of purpose, which produces nothing. If we preach flesh we get flesh and the flesh loves it and we get big churches and lots of money. Preach Jesus and Him crucified and people run from it.

It's not all gloom and doom. There are people preaching the truth and it's growing. According to biblical prophecy this happens at the same time and is happening now. The end of the church age is fastly approaching.

I am SO sorry you feel this way. I have to say I found love at my church from day 1. Keep searching, try other churches. I know some are not very welcoming or accepting but good ones are out there. Problem is they won't come looking for you, you have to seek them out. Give churches a chance, they aren't all bad. Decide exactly what you want from a church and be honest with yourself. What are you willing to give a church? Time? Resources? Money? (yes, they all will ask for offerings and donations, but the good ones understand when you can only give so much.)

Also, and please take this with the love and concern with which it is given. You stated your mother's home is a mess. Is it just messy, in which case you can clean if she doesn't, or is it to the point where no one can walk from one room to another? I know this isn't answering your question but I do care and want the best for you. Really, I do. Feel free to message me personally, if you want.

...I have learned that the letters to the churches were actually prophecies about the different ages of the future church...
The letters to the seven churches are not prophecies of different periods of Church history, they are messages to each named individual church (Rev 1v4,11). However, each letter to the churches has lessons for all of Christ's Church in all ages. We need to take note of the warnings, and rejoice in the promises, that Jesus gives to these churches. There have been many different kinds of churches in every period of Church history. The word of God is the eternal voice of God to His people. The Holy Spirit meets the particular and local needs of each church through His gifts.

Yahweh Shalom...

The word Laodicea means judging the people. Look at judgment given in this church.

Revelation 3:16 KJV
(16) So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
