I've dated a nonchristian before, and probably would again. Nothing bad came of it. None of the horror stories people suggest like her ripping me away from christianity and converting me into a sinning heathen actually happened.
Well, after cancelling our trip to BurningMan and being the only one of her friends who wasn't a liberal pot smoking Rave jockey. I can honestly say you've dodged a bullet.

Guess I'll need to get my introverted butt out of Starbucks and school, and go find me a passion!

You, my dear, have a passion! Actually, you have many. And if you like, I can share with you what I perceive them to be. In the mean time, please order me an iced vanilla chai. I'll meet you at Starbucks!

That's the Spirit!

I've dated Christians and non-Christians. However, I wouldn't date a non-Christian and I am picky about the next Christian I date. He has to have a functioning relationship with Christ. No more settling for "Well, he at least shows up for church." mentality.
I think its way more important for a Man to be a Christian in the Relationship than a Woman. Its not equal but, strangely enough I agree with you.

Yes, please do, because I know my good qualities and all that jazz, but I don't see how I can make that into a hobby that would get me in touch with the male species.

I guess to Re-Rail the Thread.

In America its kind of Rough to find someone who didn't grow up in church and have a relationship with Christ. Sometimes people need to be reminded that love values innocent things.

For a while I was dying to run off into the world and sew my wild crops but, One of the Women that I grew up with and Really Really liked, came into my life as an Adult and in a way she reminded me of what the Truth is.

With all of this said though, I have found that in Church circles if there is someone that I like. I feel as though I have to sort of Tread water and talk to all of her friends and get their approval first. Or maybe its just in my hometown.

There is a LOT more Drama to be dispatched in Dating a Christian. There is the scrutiny of everyone. The levels of acceptable accountability from people. The judgemental, you should be Courting escorted over tea in 17th Century regalia crowd.

There are the people who give you books. "Here a little John Eldridge for ya. ;)" ...um, I've owned this before but okay.

There are the people who try to Pray that God's will be done in your relationship, ie I hope they break up soon.

There is the annoying, SO... when are you kids getting married or have you picked out baby names yet GUY. -he never happens when dating Worldly chic.

I've never dated a Christian- like serious Christian- before, so I haven't come across the accountability, etc. stuff. I could see how that all would get on someones nerves.

Accountability is great. I think every couple needs it. However, there's accountability and then there's stalking. People think it's their "duty" to get involved in your relationship, but what they're ACTUALLY doing is exercising their need to stick their nose into someone's business. When you run into people like that, I say politely tell them you have accountability and otherwise you'd prefer to keep your relationship to yourself. What's so wrong with that? You're not accountable to everyone everywhere. I think it's stupid that most Christians think they have a right to speak into someone's life. Speak into my life, absolutely, but don't assume I'm going to follow your counsel just because you butted in. I'm going to pray about it, I'm going to test the spirits, I'm not going to let just anyone guide me.

If I'm wrong folks, correct me.

I agree. If someone's going to be all uptight/nosy/rude/pushy about a relationship... why even let them know that it exists in the first place? Seriously, whose life is it anyway?

Maybe this is the Aussie in me, but I would tell them to 'shove off and mind their own business.' Politely at first but if that doesn't work...

I think there are quite a lot of Christian men who do not belong to a church, they must just be more difficult for women to find. For example, myself, I have a lot of differences as a Messianic which is why I do not agree with majority of churches.

Definitely do not take someone for the sake of entering a relationship. If you do not like them for who they are, do not even go there.

I myself am a bit more open towards other faiths, but as long as they believe in the same God as me, for example I have not ruled out dating Jewish or Muslim.

Muslims don't worship the same God, Jewish people do. But aren't Messianic people Jews who also believe the Messiah has already arrived (in Jesus)?

Yep, Messianic Jews are Jews that believe that Jesus is the Messiah that was prophesied in the Torah. They still keep their jewishness, and aren't considered Christians for that reason, but believe the same as we do in terms of Jesus/ New Testament. I actually own a Jewish New Testament.
