Well Dekote, we are obviously just using slightly different definitions. That's fine, there's no such thing as official meanings, we just need to be clear with each other about what we mean. I use the word agnostic to describe anyone who doesn't consider themselves to know for certain if any gods exist or not. I'd divide them into agnostic theists, and agnostic atheists, depending of if they believe. I agree with your statistic, because I think most theists are agnostic because they don't consider themselves to know absolute proof of God, I think gnostic theists are a minority among theists- just like gnostic atheists are a minority among atheists, because most people are aware you could never disprove all definitions of gods, most are unfalsifiable. The vast majority of atheists are agnostic atheists; they don't believe in any gods, and they don't feel they know with certainty. This is the way the words are popularly used in the atheist community, but again, there's no right and wrong when it comes to definitions
Dictionaries don't prescribe official meanings, they try to describe popular usages
