You know. I feel fairly normal. I think I'm a normal guy, but I don't know. It's like, I'm just following some pretty girl down a sidewalk, and she keeps staring back at me with these really weird looks, like she thinks I'm going to do something, and I think "Please honey, I can look at the menu don't mean I gotsta order!" and then like windows, you know...windows. Curtains wide open for everyone to see in, and they're looking at me like I'm freak! It's like "Helloooo, curtains open homie you want me to peek or not make up your mind." *sigh* story of my life.

I think you went from wearing the glitter to snorting it. We need to get you on Dr. Phil STAT!

When it comes down to it, i'm honestly not all that different. I'm a young male who likes cars, snowboarding, driving fast, loud music, don't really talk on the phone, etc. I'm a pretty stereotypical for a 20-25 year old single male. *sigh* life goes on...

I am slightly different. I have a general lack of excitement for any video game, and I don't really drink.

Can't, his wife filed a restraining order :/

YES!!!

I was thinking about a comment made in another thread. My life is very different from most people's. I'm probably very different too, but then...I thought we all were.

My life has been a dangerous one. While I'm fully prepared to deal with danger, I don't really see myself as a dangerous person. But I can see how I could look that way to other people. :) I think that's probably why people in my line of work tend to "stick with their own kind". From what I've seen, I don't know that works out better, but I honestly consider it from time to time.

My late husband was not a cop, but he was military and he knew me before I became a cop, so maybe that's why it was different. My lifestyle, the hours I put in and some of the things I have to do to protect myself and my loved ones can be difficult for some folks to understand. I realize that. Still...surely there are people out there who can handle it.

How about you? Is there something about you that makes you feel different? Something that gets in the way of dating?

I'm Bipolar and have a 16 year old son. It's almost impossible to find someone that is cool with that. God has someone planned for me though so I am just waiting on Him to reveal my mate.

Julianna I so want to smash your bug by the way. It creeps me out! LOL

I have this impulse in me that tells me that I need to be different & unique from everyone else. Like my identity depends on it lol. I think that's why I am a rebel at heart. I can't follow what other expect of me. I can't be predictable. I can't be held down by expectations. It is all quite unproductive.

I think women are intimidated by me. Yeah, that's it. Intimidated. They just said 'grossed out' by accident.

But seriously! I think being a devout Christian does place limits on a lot of areas of my life, dating included, but nothing that 'gets in the way' of dating or anything else. I always think of the "DANGER: BRIDGE OUT" signs, and someone saying, "Ah, someone just doesn't want me to go there because I'll have fun." (The guy I imagine has greasy spiky hair, but that's of little consequence. Just another thing that makes me different...)

Many people don't understand being set apart until marriage. Even Christian guys I dated were like "whoa I think it's ok if you love each other". So I totally understand this is a drawback to some but is a deal breaker for a sold out believer.

No smashing Fluffy or I'll cry! :)

I don't think I'm different in general. I don't think there's anything exceptionally weird, unique, or outstanding about me, at least.

It depends on who I'm around on if I feel different. For example, I'm shy, so if I'm around a bunch of outgoing people I'm going to feel different. Or if there's a group of girls talking about how much they love shoes, I'm going to feel different (shoes aren't really my thing, I wear pretty much the same 3 pairs). Sometimes it does make me a bit self-conscious but it's usually not a bad different, just a different different.

I kid you not. Long ago I got a call from a guy. He wanted to know if I could fix his pc monitor..
I said ok ill take a look.
when I got there. I realized no way I could fix the monitor
I asked what happened to the monitor.
He said. Well I was reading this message board thing and a bug landed on my screen and kept moving around. I tried to kill the bug with my hand but I couldnt kill it. so I got my 45 and shot it.

facepalm.

Classifying myself as "different" is basically seeing how I compare to the majority of the people I am around, and then trying to find the consensus of what "normal" is. Truth be told I don't think I've found people who match completely. So in that extremely corny sense we are all different and all that jazz. So instead of calling myself different I will just list my quirks. (I am bored and have a bit of free time)

1: I handle most things delicately. When answering phones I only pick it up with my index finger and thumb, when writing I hold the writing utensil really loosely, etc.

2: Extreme trust issues. But I suppose that's something everyone has at one point or another.

3: Quiet. Extremely quiet, in fact. It isn't uncommon for me to walk into a room half-filled with people and no one realizes I'm there.

4: OCD about everyday actions (re-checking to see if I remembered to turn off the power strip to my electronics before I leave, locking things, running virus scans on the computer, etc)

So yeah. I guess in that regard, I'm a bit different.

I leave my machines on 24/7 actually seems to hold out much better then turning them on and off. (electronics fail faster when powered on and off a lot. the heat/cold cycles tend to wear them out)
As for the anti virus garbage.. Debian -- The Universal Operating System never have to worry about that again.
