can't sleep GRRRR!!!!

I read a story that I wrote in which I am pretty proud of to a friend this afternoon, all I got was 'yeah, it's alright' and a critique of how it could be better. No acknowledgment of the feeling and symbolism. No acknowledgment of the heart. Ahhh! Note to self: Don't ask her for her opinion.

LMROOOO I hate when that happens. 7B47B's...I am without speech on that one. lol I broke down & watched that flick once with my ex because she raved about what a good film it was. Ummmm 1 word...CREEPY! lol so many red beards at one time,"My eyes...my eyes!" But,hey..a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to get some shut eye.

It may be because you need a good writer to critique good writing.

I can relate. When i used to write everyone said the same thing.. 'i like the way you word things, but i don't like what you said'. -.- And these were things i wrote that were very personal to me. Grrr.

Yeah, common trait of INFPs-

Expectation:
You will sit down with a pen and paper and write a masterpiece that will make the world feel the depth of emotion of what you are trying to express

Reality:
One person reads it and says 'yeah its alright'

*throws hands up in the air in frustration* but but but, you're missing the whole feeling...ugh -.-

My friend, some people's opinions don't matter. If she's not literate and doesn't get fiction to begin with, she's not a good source to refer to. There will always be someone who doesn't like your work, who wants to change it, who wants to make you or your art into something for THEM. Concede when you're wrong, stick to your guns when you need to, and write to your hearts content. In the end it doesn't matter what people think as long as God is glorified.

Arwen, find a good editor. And if you have the time, take a summer writing course. It would be a lot of fun! You can gain experience, make some friends, etc.

I haaaaate when this happens!

I have a friend who makes me crazy- she'll read something I write, say "Yeah, it's ok", so then I feel all indifferent about writing for a while, and then she'll get bored and want something to read and she'll tell me I need to write more.

I'm not here solely for your entertainment!

Bleh. People who don't write...SOME of them...bleh.
 
I haven't written in ages... I should probably start back up.


Arwen, MissCris, let's start a writing group! Or at least exchange stories for editing, etc.
