For my 10th Birthday my grandparents gave me Mayfair, she is to the right of my avatar. She is my best ever birthday present, I have had her for nearly 14 years, the is the matriarch of my pony stud and just lovely.

Here she is again

So what is/was your best present?

I dont remember any presents honestly.

I get the feeling you can't ride those mini horses can you?
I got Mayfair when I was 10 so I did ride her but then my legs got too long.
They make fantastic riding ponies for children and are, comparative to their size, the strongest horses in the world, they can carry an adult.

I did not know that. I learned something today.

course don't be shocked if I ask again i tend to forget stuff.

Shetland ponies are great. They have such character. Anyway I appear to be derailing my own thread....oops

Other great gifts included: a bike (also my 10th birthday), a holiday to Greece, I diamond ring for my 21st, a lifetime membership to the shetland pony stud book society (its expensive so my grandparents got it for me), GHDs, a Digital Camera, my Ipod, my kindle, and my Wii + Wii fit. All over the last 14 years lol.

My favorite gifts are the things that I've just mentioned in passing, and forgotten about- like I saw a commercial for Kindles one day and commented to my husband that it might be kind of nice to have one, since I'm out of space on all my bookshelves. I wasn't asking him to buy me one, but a couple months later he got me one for Mother's Day.

I also got a Flying Purple Space Monkee once. That was pretty special.

I love my kindle, but what is a flying purple space monkee?

Well...me and a friend wasted several classes together writing this horrible song about them, so then she made me one...just a stuffed purple monkey, with a hamster ball on its head like a space helmet, with a bandana tied around its neck like a cape.

Of course, that makes perfect sense...lol

:O I ask for a horse every Christmas. It started when I was 4 or 5 (I specifically remember praying for a horse when I was little, ha) and I still put it on there just for kicks. I never got one. :P

I'm going to sentimental-juke the thread, but...

Now that I'm older and things are starting to change, honestly the best present during my birthday and Christmas is being with family. I don't get to see some of them very much, so it's always awesome when we get together during holidays. Plus, I share my birthday with my twin and she is a gift to me. :)

In a non-sentimental way, I do remember getting a doll when I was younger, and I was so excited that I ran through the house squealing. I had wanted an American Girl doll, but those are pricey, and so I got a "knock off" version but I was just as happy. :D

I used to beg my mom for Felicity (American Girl doll)!! I never got her, but my mom gave me a pretty angel porcelain doll that will be my daughter's in a few years.

So...other favorite gifts are the ones I can pass on to my kids.

I do love my Freckie but I don't remember getting him. He is a Steiff bear that my dad got for me when I was born.

Rachel, no sentimental allowed! this is a materialistic thread.... :p
