ohhhh. Now I get it. This idea didn't cross my mind even though I knew it. However, I don't think sow hatred among Christians is the answer. I am disappointed.

It's always wise and safe to follow God's word and never go out with someone who is not a Christian if you are a believer in Jesus Christ. God has blessed us with His word for learning about Him, the truth about life on planet earth and how we should live. Trust Him always and even if we don't understand why He says to not be unequally yoked, obey Him anyway. He never keeps good things from us.

Shouryu, may I also use this on my FaceBook? I love it. (I'll give you credit for it).
I always thought it'd be funny if I married someone named Jacob (my name's Rachel). Though, I don't want the same exact story...I'd prefer not to wait 7 years and have him marry my sister first.

That would be super awkward. Your sister's name's not Leah by any chance is it?

Haha, no.
Plus she's already married, so I'm safe. Though, I would not marry someone who was previously married to my sister.

Oh, good. You can avoid any of that Biblical trauma that goes along with it then. Does your twin look much like you? Or are you more fraternal twins? (Rachel, I hope I'm not treading on your personal space asking such things).
Oh, you're fine, no treading at all! We're fraternal twins, about half an hour apart.
And nope, we don't look much alike. I'm 4 inches taller, I'm paler, I have naturally curlier hair, etc. Most people don't realize we're even sisters. Someone said we have the same nose (I can see that) and the same eyelashes (...okay...). We're pretty different in personality, too, but we love each other to pieces. Here is a picture of us together. Not great quality but it is, after all, a picture of a picture.

Wow, you look very different. I prefer your looks (which is probably for the best, especially since your sister's married).

By all means, Tin-man! Maybe preface it with the thought that God's children in the Old Testament went through a lot of trials so that we could learn to be smarter when it came to marriage...and even under those crazy circumstances, Yahweh still blessed all of them. You can credit it to "Shour N." Oddly specific, and yet anonymous. ^_^

Cheers, mate. I really appreciate your post. I laughed so hard.
Here's the variation to your preface:
God's children encountered many trials so that He could teach us to be smarter when it comes to marriage. Even under these crazy circumstances, God richly blessed them all.
Disclaimer: the Bible often records history. It doesn't condone everything recorded therein.
So you want to marry Old Testament style? You may want to rethink that...
(Courtesy of Shour N.)
Jacob: The man has to work for seven years to marry a girl he didn't want in the first place.
Esther: Woman inherits the husband after he puts away his previous wife. Husband is extremely gullible.
David: The man is anointed by God, yet the whole ordeal involving wives and children is a tale of incest, rape, and murder.
Jacob again: The man's two wives can't stop competing, so they solve the problem by making him sleep with their maids.
Michal: Your dad gives you to a man he hates as prize. When you poke fun at your husband, God makes you barren.
Hosea: Ya know, we'll just let this one go...

Ha, well thanks. To be fair, though, I think she looks much prettier in real life and I think I look way better in photos than I do in real life. So with that photo, it's a bit of a cheat. I managed to both insult and compliment myself in the same sentence.

I've thought it. I think everyone here has thought at least one, but as i read from one of you, we will get them tired of talking about jesus to much. In my opinion truly christians talk to much about jesus, and non-christians dont listen to much about jesus lol lol. I would try to meet a non-christian but she must be at least a serious girl, therefore she must be aware that i live for jesus. What do i prefer? of couse a christian. If she is christian i would live in peace, because she loves God but also is afraid of God. No matter what's going on she would be always there helping me, not like non-christians that swears with bible in hand that will be together no matter what, and when comes the first problem get divorce breaking the sworn to God.

Oh, don't say that about yourself. You look great! Not that I've met you in person, so I can't compare you and a photo of you (stop it, Christian, you're just digging a hole!) It has more to do with good lighting than anything and how awake a person is when the photo is taken (also smiles count for a lot, and naturally a godly personality). People just have different preferences.
