ok everyone, so it is hard being single right? i have read so much about, tried to not think about it, tried everything out there, but when it comes down to it, it is just a difficult road. But one thing i do know is that God cares about each one of us, and there is someone out there, and i will not settle for less than God's best for my life. i am waiting for my mr right, that awesome man of God who will adore me and who is madly in love with God. I know he's out there, i'm waiting, i'm trying to get my life in order in the meantime so i can be ready for him. i cant wait to meet him, and i have met all these guys that are not him, they are not what i need, or what God wants for my life. i am a woman of God and it is important who i have as head of my home. i know it is critical who i pick, that we be able to flow together in life. I guess i'm really just trying to voice my feelings, but i would like to encourage anyone who is searching, don't settle, God has the person for you in mind, and your destiny alot of times depends on who you choose, we have to choose wisely with Godly wisdom. in order to fulfill our purpose, you need the right person. I know it is really hard remaining pure. Sometimes, i think i am just on the verge of throwing in the towel on remaining pure, but then i think, i dont really want to live any other way, and the world's way is horrible. God knows the pain of being celibate and trying not to get into sexual sin, and He knows how i cry sometimes because i want held at night when i sleep. it is a constant battle, and a battle with insecurity and fear of the future, but i really do want to live a life that glorifies God. He is everything to me. anyway, God bless everyone, just sharing my heart......rebecca

Being single is a walk in the park compared to being married and more so with kids.

There is far more complexity being married then single.

you know He must care for you alot if He is taking a lot of time on you! and there are sometimes alot of reasons we are still single, it could be we or the other person is just simply not ready

It is very hard being single, waiting on God to be your matchmaker. I just turned 34 and am I'm not married. I may not ever get married. I may, in fact, remain single (and therefore celibate) the rest of my life. If that's what the Lord wants for me, I will obey because my life belongs to Him anyway. But would He not grant me my heart's desire?

I used to think that we all had someone that we were ment to be with but now I think maybe some of us are not ment to be married, so we can to do thigs for God without distration from a family life. Things we could never do if we were obligated to taking care of a family. Maybe a family and being married would come before God. I used to want to be married more then anything. I prayed and prayed but God never sent anyone. So now I think God may want me doing other things. So now Im trying to find out what that is instead of praying for a wife.

http://christianchat.com/member.php?u=158617 Emgcynurse2005, I wonder why are you single? You live in the states (broad ample opportunity to meet other people), and looking at your avatar (picture), and with do all respect, you are a nice lady.

In my case I'm 45 never being married, Christ saved me 6 to 7 years ago. In my "past" live I had few long term partners and many dates but those relations never materialize into marriage. After being saved I start attending a Disciples of Christ church where I met a very nice and special lady. Here in Puerto Rico Disciples of Christ churches are very conservative and charismatic not like in the states that have become liberal. The issue was that while I was reading the bible and learning more, I found that I couldn't harmonize the doctrines that I saw in the bible with the teachings that I was receiving in that church (I'm talking about perseverance of the saints, election, role of men and women, gift of the Holy Spirit, methods of evangelism etc.), so I decided to move to another church in the Baptist Reformed line of doctrine. Problem was that that didn't went well with our relation. She went and visited but didn't want to stay with me in the Baptist Reformed church because she is very firm in her pentecostal doctrine. So after a long period of consideration, sadly, we decided to part our ways. That was 5 years ago and after that experience I learn that not only is a matter of not being an unequal yoke but also of being of equal mind.

Here in Puerto Rico 70% of the population is Catholic and 30% is "protestant", out of that 30%, 25% is either pentecostal/charismatic or liberal. So that left Puerto Rico with only 5% of churches that are reformed and/or conservative, with the consequence that is very hard to have the chance to meet a lady. For example the church that I'm visiting now, there isn't one, single lady of my age not even of 20's or 30's. To me it is hard first because I do desire to share my life and raise a family with a special lady (even when I'm 45), and the other reason is because, how can I say it hmmmm..... I'm not a member of the Apostle Paul's club (1 Corinthians 7:7-9). Plenty of opportunities have shown up at my work place (even when I’m 45), but I have to reject them because I want to stand firm and faithful to what God tech me in His word. Sometimes I wonder if I'm sinning because the bible teach us that the word of God is not burdensome for those that love Him (1 John 5:3)

I wish I can live in the states. A church that I would like to attend is Dr. John MacArthur Grace Community Church but God is Sovereign and He is in control. To Him be all the Glory (Romans 11:36 my favorite bible verse).

Numbers 6:24-26 to you!
