I wasn't crazy over them either. And their last CD seemed to want to push the boundaries, lyrically. It was somewhat questionable, to me, and others, how 'Christian' they really were for their last CD.

I know after their original singer left they decided they weren't a christian band anymore, how original of them.

We should just kick them. That's usually my answer for everything that doesn't work. Kick it. *straps on steel toe boots...

Becoming The Archetype....Terminate Damnation is good album,,...textbook grindcore

I loved Becoming the Archetype up through Dichotomy. I wouldn't call it Grindcore though, though mixed quite a few styles in their first couple albums.

hahahaha... i'm having an unblack night tonight... Synnove, Crimson Moonlight, Coram Deo, Ceremonial Sacred, Borgazur, Bleakwail... and the nights not even over.

Are there any bands similar to Opeth? I have heard of Morphia; good band, any others?


How about technical bands? Or progressive bands? I am aware of Becoming the Archetype and I Built the Cross. Any others?

Just something that sounds unique?

Please don't listen the known bands, I already know them all. Thanks!

For progressive for sure listen to Extol if you don't already. Particularly the Burial and Undeceived albums, also check out Mantric, and if you're ok with the power metal style (i.e. Iron Maiden) check out Theocracy. I haven't listened to much Opeth, though what I hear I like, I don't really know of any bands similar sounding.

Crimson Moonlight is soooo good. I really like the guys vocals, he doesn't just stick with one pitch most of the time like a lot of unblack vocalists, he goes all over the place, and sounds wicked awesome. I need me to download soon.
