Okay, AVG is being evil, and I don't want to deal with it any more.

What should I download? It must be free and pleasant to work with.

My favourite is SuperAntispyware. I've been using it for almost 8 years without issue, but it doesn't catch everything, so I use it in conjunction with Malwarebytes. Both are simple to use, and free (both are for Windows). My 2¢

I have heard a lot of good things with BullGuard. My friend will stand by its side against any other anti virus. But me personally I stick with my windows defender :p.

Prob with BullGuard is, It's extremely protective. Every site you enter or search is checked in front of your eyes so it might be 'annoying' to some. Since it doesn't take the pacifist background role.

As I said it is probably one of the most aggressive ones I have seen. But if your comp is infected it can be a pain to install and you might need help from a tech-e.

Not to be mean, or vindictive towards your comment. But, here it goes...

Superantispyware Is beyond user friendly and very nice looking upfront. Very easy to manage and see. Also will catch majority of the malware: spyware, trojans, and rootkits. However when removing these item's its not very efficient. It is known for saying it has removed some and leaving them running. Yet, has one of the quickest scan times on the market. :) there is a Achillies Heel for every program.

My favorite is 'owning a Mac' ;)

Arwen, I think you're super nifty. With that being said, nope. The last place I worked as a graphic designer, we had to use Macs. That Mac hated me, and I hated it. Seriously, it had it out for me. I just can't handle that kind of hated from a computer. :p

Just go to Download.com and search for antivirus and check 'free'. Then you can see the ones that are most popular and have the best reviews from the site, sometimes, and from other users.
I have AVG free, no trouble.

That's why I congruently use in with another program.

I just run linux

[brett@praxis ~]$ uname -a
Linux praxis 3.8.5-201.fc18.i686 #1 SMP Thu Mar 28 21:59:40 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I do have AVG anti-virus however.

My Mac is used and 5 years old- runs perfectly. 'Nough said. Haters will be hatin'

And lets add, Mac is the red headed step child of Microsoft. Bill Gates helped Invent the OS-X Operating system. There is a reason he didn't take a stake in the company :). We're not going to talk about Intel leave that fact out of this.

I like McAfee antivirus. Norton is annoying and takes up a lot of space.

My AVG is expired. I keep getting all these pop-ups from it, and I yell at them. Instead of just removing it or renewing it, yelling makes so much more sense.
