Is there like, a reason we should celebrate Earth Day?
Maybe that's a stupid question. Hmm. I'll try again.
I don't personally feel that "celebrating the Earth" is cool. I don't buy into the global warming scare, I don't recycle, I don't hug trees.
I DO think it's a good idea for people to clean up after themselves, take care of the place we live...to a logical extent. But then I hear the term "carbon foot print" and how that's a bad thing, and I wonder...when did this chunk of rock get personified? "Treat Mother Earth right"...
I don't know. I hope I'm not offending anyone with this, but a lot of times, it seems like the extreme "tree huggers" out there would prefer if humans would just go away and leave Mother Earth alone and stop messing "her" up. And I think they're lunatics.
It's all really weird. And it seems like, with all the hype about "going green" and whatnot, it's almost a religion. I mean, probably it is for some people.
I guess what I'm getting at is, at what point in "saving the earth" should Christians stop and say "Ok, this is just nuts and I'm not gonna worship the planet, mmkay?"
Um...yeah, I don't expect a lot of responses to this, I just didn't want to throw off any other threads with my weird ideas/questions.
