There are new dollar coins going into circulation, a gold coin with George Washington's face on one side and NO In God We Trust on the other!!! Refuse these coins, ask for a $1 bill instead. A friend did this at the post office and the clerk said "Way to go". If few people use them (cause some won't care or understand) maybe we'll send the message that In God We DO Trust!

I know, our country's history doesn't seem to mean much. This could lead us in a very sad direction. Prayers for our country and our leaders, as my pastor asks for every Sunday morning.

That's sad.
There are people here who want to remove the cross from our flag, Thankfully most people think that's a crazy idea though.

America hasn't trusted in God for a long time. Our country has been heading in a sad direction for quite a while now, even just in the span of my relatively short life. I don't think keeping it on the coin will change anything.

Am I shocked? No. Am I saddened? Yes, but saddened more at the state of my country, not that they'd make money without "In God We Trust" on it. That's simply a side effect of where America is at.

Wow. Things really are happening fast.
What about the courtrooms? Have they removed the bible from there yet or is in the talks? Anyone know?

You know if you guys read the link provided above you would have seen that In God We Trust is clearly imprinted on the edges on the coins. They admitted mistakes on a first print where it was left out, but said they fixed this. Why everyone blindly shoots off at the hip on things like this I will never understand. It's like you want this to be true just to justify your perceived persecution.

I didn't see the link. Apparently the relocation of the motto to a place that is not as evident fooled a lot of people with the new $1.
However, I think that anyone that has noted the slow progressive removal of God's involvement in the nation knows that it is just a matter of time. Fact is that even though it says "In God We Trust", the majority of people trust the false security that they get in the money that it is printed on.

Well since we were never a christian nation in the first place I dont understand why people are surprised. Heck the In God we Trust, was added during the cold war as our motto. In 1956, the nation was at a particularly tense time in the Cold War. As a result, the 84th Congress passed a joint resolution to replace the existing motto with "In God we trust". The change was partly motivated by a desire to differentiate between communism, which promotes atheism, and Western capitalistic democracies, which were at least nominally Christian. It might have been written as lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner but that was only in an unplayed stanza, written by one man. Our original motto was E Plurbius Unum.

The dollar bill is worthless. A gold coin has value. Actually the day is coming soon when there will be no more money usage. you will have electronic funds in an account. They will also want to implant people with a computer chip. A person will go to the store to buy something and scan their chip. The money will be directly subtracted from their account. Of course, this will be the mark of the beast.

Good grief! Can we have one thread without anything about the RFID chip being the mark of the beast? Ugh.

In God We Trust was on coins WAY BEFORE 1950. Don't why everyone says
"It was only added in the 1950s" So not true!

Dollar coins have never been accepted by the public, every attempt to circulate them has failed. Moving IGWT to the edge is a step to take it out of sight. And that's where coins wear and mark up the most. I could be a conspiracy theorist and say it's a sign of the coming apostasy, but we all know that signs stopped happening in 70 AD.

If you noticed I never said on coins. I said it was adopted as our country's motto in the 1950s.
