That awkward moment when you know you're selling needles to a junkie, but you legally have to because the type of needles they're buying are allowed.
The awkward moment when you have to have the moral debate with yourself of enabling addiction vs. promoting public health and realizing that slowing the spread of blood borne pathogens is probably better than making drug use more difficult for someone... after all, you remember what addiction feels like, and know that a fix is a fix is a fix and that by the time someone is needing a fix, its unlikely they'll hold fast against any personal bias they may have against using someone else's kit.

The awkward moment when you admit having had chemical dependency problems in the past.

The awkward moment when you are just really glad you drew the line somewhere and didn't put poison Directly into your veins.

The awkward moment when you think that there may be some medical tests you should have, just because you can't really be certain of what you ex was up to before she left.

I figure a clean needle is better than a dirty one. When it comes down to it, harm reduction is harm reduction. I can't stop them from using, but I can treat them with dignity and respect. And pray they'll find an out soon.

Unneeded clarification: this is my own admission, not an accusation of Anyone.

Are you and yours okay?
Aside from sudden gravity and a bruised knee, yep. The baby is sick, and my mother-in-law is a nurse and was scaring me, so we went to the ER. Turns out, baby is fine except the cold, but I'm a bad mom.

Ok, no, that's not true, that's just how the ER doc made me feel while we were there.

Good times.

Doctors are... special. Don't feel bad. He was probably taking out the frustrations of his shift on you. As an almost medical professional, I feel I can tell you that with confidence. Hugs.

That awkward moment someone asks you to do something. Something you and everyone else always joked about. Something you never thought you'd actually hear. Something you NEVER hope to hear again.
