Giving factual information from the White House is not a tangent. Just because someone does not see things like you do is not in any form a tangent.

Ok so the White House is wrong. Since you have done your research then I am sure you will notify them on how wrong they are on their assumptions.
I am also aware of what terrorism is, and if the government chooses to take strong action in bombings like they did today for the protection of others then by all means do. Even if that means treating the situation as an act of terrorism without knowing for sure who the perpetrators are or the reasons for it. I know this may come as a shock to you, but it is very likely this is an act of terrorism. There are people out there in the world that do not like Americans and would love for us to be dead. The government has good reason to feel this was an act of terrorism, and chances are they know more about the situation than what the media is telling us anyway.

And who is talking about Arora or Columbine? If you want to bring up past tragedies then why not bring up the bombing in Oklahoma that was politically motivated which would make it an act of terrorism.

Vindictive? How is responding to a thread showing revenge?

I do apologize. You're right. No matter the motivation for the bombing there are people who have lost loved ones, and many whose lives have changed forever. I am sure if any of us were directly affected we wouldnt be arguing whether or not to call it terrorism.

Elizabeth I want to apologize to you personally, I did not act Christ-like towards you. And with that being said I can't say I am sorry enough... I am a very sinful man and loose my way a lot, nothing in the world could have made my words correct, and I thank you for being more Christ-like then I am. It brought me back to reality.

Nautilus You started a beautiful thread here to cherish the memory of the ones who passed... And to keep the ones in need in our thoughts and prayers... Thank you also for keeping a beyond level head when you see a man falling. You have a great gift.

I want to apologize to anyone who posted or read this thread. For my selfish ways have brought a narcissistic attitude of self gratification through being right to this thread. Instead of its designed purpose...
 
A lot of parents that have children are in denial when their children misbehave. They look to place the blame on other kids, parents, teachers, or whatever they can grasp.
Other people can see how horrible the children's behavior are. But the moment they try to tell the parents to offer to help... watch out.
Like my mother said recently, "One can talk about their own children and family all they want. But the moment someone else does, that protective instinct kicks in." I agree with her about this but think one's nation/country should be added to that.
Not everyone here is blind. There are a few of us that have been watching for quite some time now.
The distractions will keep coming as long as people will be distracted. The big show doesn't begin until the curtain is drawn back.
P.S. I know about the FEMA camps too.

May God have mercy on those that have done this and may those that suffered be comforted through this ordeal.

Westboro Baptist Church is claiming God sent those bombs. They're going to picket the funerals of the two that were found dead. Messed up stuff man!

I would normally agree with you if it wasn't for the anti-Christian sentiment that is on the rise. Certainly many other "Christians" will be judged by these actions. :(

Good point. But we must keep in mind that all those who call themselves "Christian" are not God-loving. And that is the main reason for anti-Christian sentiment. Westboro Baptist is designated as a hate group. Of course, each individual can judge for himself or herself if the designation is justified.

An 8 year old boy died and his sister lost her leg. I am not an FBI expert but they will figure.out who did this. Pray for the victims and their families. There is a long road ahead for these people.
 
If I had to make a guess I would say a lone wolf did it, I'm not precisely up to time, but it seems like no domestic or foreign terrorist group has claimed responsibity.

Lawmakers call Boston bombing an "act of terror"

The bombs that exploded near the finish line at the Boston Marathon Monday are considered a terrorist attack by several Washington lawmakers and officials, even as President Obama refrained using that description earlier in the day.

In a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing Tuesday morning, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the event "appears to be a cruel act of terror."

"We still do not know who did this or why," he said. "Any event with multiple explosive devices as this appears to be is clearly an act of terror and will be approached as an act of terror."

He added, "We will find out who did this."

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, on Tuesday said he agreed "it was a terrorist attack of some sort," adding that the event is "a reminder of just how vulnerable we really are."

On the Senate floor Tuesday morning, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said the bombings serve as a "grim reminder of the heated and contempt many continue to harbor in their hearts."

"On 9/11 we were forever disabused of the notion that attacks... only happen on the field of battle or in distant countries," he said. "I think it's safe to say for many, the complacency that prevailed prior to 9/11 has returned. Today again we recommit ourselves to the fight against terrorism at home and abroad.

I'll say this. I know they arrested a Saudi yesterday under suspicion for this. In my eyes, luckily, it was reported that he was just someone who had been slightly injured in the blast and was seen fleeing the scene. They have released him with a clear record simply saying wrong place, wrong time.

I was busy working on some paperwork so simply missed out on what happened. I thought it was a situation where nobody died and only a couple people had minor to moderate injuries.

Today, for the first time, I'm seeing the extent of what happened. The pictures I'm looking at on the Internet with their legs blown off being taken from the scene are gruesome.
 
Out of curiosity, how much coverage did America have when British people were being blown up by IRA bombs? The Boston event is sad, yes, terrible, but seriously, the coverage we are having in UK and way people are over-reacting, its ridiculous, especailly when soliders are being blown up daily in Iraq and Afgahnistan and we hardly hear anything about it.

The conspiracy theories are already at overload level and will continue to be. Just wait for someone to claim responsibility.

Honestly, as I was going to work last night (it was only 7 hours after) I tried to catch up on the bombing through the radio news but they mentioned it only in brief but gee whizz, Kobe Bryant and his injury was what was repeated in my ears. Typical America.
