The last few months I’ve been seeing more and more people talk about being preppers, or becoming one, at least in the Youtube world and on Facebook. (For those who don’t know what a Prepper is, it’s someone who is preparing for a mega disaster.) Some, are prepping for nuclear disaster, others for a meteorite. Other’s for economic failure. Some of these preppers end up storing foods that would last them for years. And to some extent, I do understand their view point. I mean, preparing for something that could happen in the future is not a bad idea. But there is a point, I think where one can get carried away too far. I keep thinking as I see either shows about preppers and videos that they post to help other preppers, what if they were to die way before any major event or the disaster only effected people for one month. What then? And then I start to wonder, if I were to live like this, would it reveal a lack of faith in God? After all the Bible does say, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matt 6:34)
What do you think about all the prepping going on? Do you think it’s mainly hysteria, or do you feel that prepping is something that is needed.
