I can image , I lost my dog for 13 plus years it’s tough , I never married so if they are close it’s hard to manage the loss and could effect the health I’m sure !

Exactly, even losing pets is traumatic. For a man to lose his wife, a common heart condition can develope called "Broken Heart Syndrome" aka Stress Induced Cardiomyopathy.<. It can even cause permanent heart, vascular damage and death.
I don't know, but maybe that happened as it can to the strongest hearts.
