I like that this particular forum exists. I like to cook and try new recipes. Here's one I've been developing from it's original form I found somewhere online. I like it this way, and maybe you'll like it too.

1 can drained and well rinsed chickpeas
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 small to medium red onion finely sliced (mandolin works great for this)
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 bunch Italian parsley, leaves finely chopped
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 TBSP olive oil

Combine chickpeas, garlic, onions, chili powder and salt. Mix well and set aside. Combine oilive oil and lemon juice and whisk well until it combines. Pour over chickpea mixture and fold in. Fold in chopped parsley. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving. Even better (like 100x) if done 24 hours ahead of time.

I have had this great salad. But (hate to say it) I was forced to expel gas from eating it [oops!]. :)

I will neither confirm nor deny the salad's ability to produce an abundance of flatulence.

Thnx, something to try. Filipinos being rice eaters like the chinese, are also starting to? eat salads, and i esp want to try some recipes w/ chickpeas. Once i saw a recipe of milk from these, but i have not tried yet. Aside from dairy, what we often only have in the mkt is soy milk.
