Due to my love for everything greasy and fattening, as well as my love for cooking and health, it has become a necessity for me to find healthy versions of "bad-for-me" things that I normally crave. Of course it will never be exactly the same, as we're removing everything actually tasty (jk), but it certainly satisfies the craving.
As an example, I'll use my craving for pizza- because I know many others can relate.
So0o0o0o for pizza... here is our alternative.
Source: GK
Ingredients:
2 whole zucchinis
1 cup of Parmisan Cheese
1 tblsp of oregano
1/4-1/2 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup of your favorite tomato sauce or, even better- homemade!
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Prepare a baking sheet with a strip of aluminum foil.
Slice up the zucchini into thin discs.
Brush the discs with olive oil on both sides (don't just immerse them in oil- they'll absorb almost as much as if you were frying them).
Dip the discs into a bowl of Parm cheese so that both sides are coated.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is crispy.
While still hot, sprinkle with oregano.
Dip into favorite tomato sauce, and enjoy!
