is there any diabetic recipes on here .im diabetic looking for low carb etc
I aim for 65 grams of carb per meal, no more, no less, (recommended by experts) but also try to stick with low glycemic foods. It works, but requires study and careful shopping to work with your own taste buds. In addition I have to further restrict foods to keep oxalates down to 50 mg a day to prevent kidney stones. That rules out spinach, okra, lots of favorites.
It might take getting used to for folks not liking cabbage as a favorite dish, but I have a deli cabbage recipe that controls sugar and knocks off inches of fat. I slice up some green cabbage, put a teaspoon each of virgin olive oil, black walnut oil, and grapeseed oil in a fry pan, and start it cooking on very low heat. I shave in some fresh ginger and garlic powder or diced fresh garlic. Your imagination can change it up to make it tastier. I like some diced red bell pepper in it, sometimes adding some sauteed onion done in olive oil. Add some protein by stirring in some greek yogurt and heating it just hot enough to enjoy. I splurge a bit adding 1 T of sour cream. But a nice protein for that dish is some diced turkey put in with the onions and olive oil, browned, added early in the cabbage cooking. Serving size doesn't matter, very safe for most any dieter. Be sure to measure that oil, no splashing it in! Then go walk the meal off for amazing health benefits.
