My boyfriend and son LOVE my fried meat pies. They last a couple days around here and are very simple to make!!
What you will need :
1 pkg Egg roll wrappers
1 16 oz pkg of Jennie O ground Turkey breakfast sausage ( or whatever meat you prefer but this one is cheap 1.83$)
1 pkg of sloppy joe seasoning
Garlic powder
Vegetable Oil
1 small red onion
frying pan or wok ,cutting board and pizza cutter.
Directions : first cook your meat and add the onion diced finely while cookin, add the sloppy joe seasoning mix. Let cool.
Lay out your egg roll wrappers in diamond formation.
Spoon out two heaping table spoons directly in the center of each wrapper.
fold the wrapper over ,wet fingers and press around the lump ( create a moon shaped pocket)
use the pizza cutter to cut remaining wrapper into a moon shape by removing the sharp edges, then fold the edge over and crimp it between your fingers creatinga sealed enclosure.
Heat your oil ,about 1-2 inches in a pan, enough so the pies can float.
fry until slightly golden then remove! Voila
I made about 1-14 from this recipe. Instead of throwing away the excess dough that you cut away , throw them in and fry them! You can use these as wontons in eggdrop soup or even on a salad.
