Speaking of which....
I need to make a batch for tonight.

8oz semolina
2 eggs
Tsp salt
Tsp olive oil
Pepper
Mix it all up by hand, knead it, and let it rest a few hours.
(Eggs are coming funky sizes lately with little consistency so I may add semolina or water depending until it gets to be the correct consistency)

Then crank it out baby

IKR! LOL I just made me some spaghetti just because of this thread!!! lol
<SIGH> there goes MY diet! ha ha ha ha ha yea right!
Friday is generally family night at my house and we almost exclusively have some form of pasta...spaghetti, lasagna, one pot pizza. The great thing about pasta is it's easy to prepare and very tasty. The bad part is it's too tasty. Add some garlic bread and you have blown any diet. So...I just made Friday my cheat day. And everyone knows on cheat days calories are half off.

Smashing! I've made a lot of things, but not homemade pasta. Now I want to make some!

I (sort of) followed a recipe last night from youtube... YUK!!!!! I will NEVER use colby jack in mac n cheese again!!! She made it look soooo goood too!

Much as I L O V E pasta... I usually make my own recipes like spaghetti. I LOVE spaghetti. I may use Prago sauce, but I add other ingredients too; to make it my own, ya know.... so to speak. lol. Some times I'll add tooo much of one ingredient and not enough of another, but it always turns out great.
In most cases all pasta is the same, made from the same dough, the difference between spaghetti, fettuccini, linguini, spaghettini is the size, same with Penne, scooby doo and macaroni but now the shapes make the difference.

Yes, but in a small pot where the pasta is unavoidably over-crowded, adding more water during the boiling process helps .:D
And a tea spoon of sugar helps the medicine go down lol

Green?
Red?
Black Pepper?
Purple?
Egg pasta?

Ummmm.....just because you personally stick with the most common types found in the supermarket doesn't mean everyone else does.

Pasta flavors and configurations are limited only by your imagination or lack thereof. C

I never thought of adding sugar LOL but speaking of which...

Many many moons ago, I stopped buying ketchup, because when I ate it, what did I taste? Sugar!

But when I made pasta with a tomato sauce, a small can was often too small and a large can too large.

So I have recently started buying ketchup again, and mix it with mayo or sour cream, and use a little
on homemade pizzas, which I would normally have sauce free. I use it on burgers, also, with mustard
and mayo, and on fries when I raid the hot bar in grocery stores, for chicken done a variety of ways
(love the strips), and fried fish fillets. Tonight for dinner I boiled tortellini, mixed with frozen veggies,
to which I added ketchup, mayo, parmesan, garlic powder and pepper. Super yum!
.:D

Long day so I bought a rotisserie chicken $5 and a good size container of mac-n-cheese(minimal chemicals) for about 5$. I cut in strips a cuke and voila', dinner for 2-4.

A $5.00 chicken?!?!?!?!?!??? Wow!!! I am not sure what they are here any more, as I had to stop
buying them (due to never being able to eat the whole thing in a timely manner), but twice as
much or more seems to be what I recall they used to be, and everything has really gone up since then.
