So do I. I would have loved to see the Sistine chapel. The ceiling and the windows would take days to appreciate I think.
I wanted to live in a cathedral when I was a kid so I can look at the paintings and stained glass and arches all day... lol
I think we love the light (with all colors on paintings, and colors breaking through the glass) and space because it reflects God.

Perhaps so. It always feels very inviting and peaceful, like walking into a giant hug, when I enter cathedrals that have all their windows stained and it is a brilliant sunny warm day.
Every now and then I run a check to see if there is a church for sale that has all its windows stained.
Arched ceiling, giant clerestory ("clear story") windows throughout. Hardwood floors. And if there were bells in the belfry all the better. Wake those neighbors!

Just so happened there was one giant former RCC campus for sale a few years ago. Oh, that church was amazing. The windows, the peaked roof, and ceiling, and a bell tower. Outbuildings and a few acres of land.
Everything just right save for one tiny detail.
It was in the near heart of Philadelphia.
Not a fan of big cities.

@soggykitten
That is so beautiful...
I was thinking of buying a few old stained glass painting windows in the future when my have my own house (antique treasure hunting!), and converting them into installations to hang on the wall. I'd put milky white led panel behind so light goes through, and frame it and hang it like a faux window. It would just have a bit of thickness too it because of a led panel behind (but still would look cool if done right?) :D

That would be wonderful. You could also create a box frame the same dimensions as the window. Put a hinge on one full side of the window and a latch on the other. Then in the enclosed frame/box behind install a full spectrum tubular light socket.
Drill a hole in the bottom of the box frame for the electric cord to fit through and then run it snug along the frame of the box itself so it doesn't hang down but vanishes behind the window.
The latch side lets you change the bulb as needed.
Then install the whole thing anywhere in the house you like. What a night light.

Yeah, if you want to invest more effort and go all the way, you can basically build a niche in the wall to put led light in with the panel to delete the visible depth, trim it out so it will look like a real window, and you can have a hidden switch underneath or wire it to a light switch on the wall. Lol we're thinking alike on this one.

Yes we are. :)

Did you see the Christian film, War Room?
The main character in the film had a prayer room in her house. Imagine something like that with reclaimed stain glass windows like we've discussed on all the walls. Surrounded by the lights and the beautiful inspiring imagery.

I haven't seen the movie, but I googled it briefly to see what it's about and it sounds very cool!
