No it's actually mica and believe it or not that is not where the divine pictures reflect from which makes it even more of a miracle painting. The images are produced from an area above and slightly to the right of the golden sphere.
My first response was in relationship to the actual painting that reflects the image above the other painting in view but both paintings use mica rather than sparkles.
