Why do Christians believe in a place of torment called Hell?

I figured I should add one more thing. I have issues with assurance sometimes. I don't doubt God, but I tend to wonder if I have been truly saved or not. Often, I have to go to God every day to get this issue figured out. Even so, I have found him faithful every moment, even in my doubts. While...

Why do Christians believe in a place of torment called Hell?

What are you talking about? God gives us every reason to believe the Bible. It proves itself by many prophecies hundreds and thousands of years in advance. The whole books of Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekial, with many others. But even then, that is not the Bible's largest argument. It's...

Why do Christians believe in a place of torment called Hell?

Luke 12:45-48 But suppose that servant says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and he begins to beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46The master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not...

    HELP!!!!!

I feel a burden to confess something about this response. I wrote it and gave a great deal of thought to it. However, looking back, I realize that I didn't go to the Lord before posting it. Reading through the book of Job today, I realized that I was being like Job's friends. They accused Job of...

    HELP!!!!!

First, I just want to say a few things. Rabid introspection can be a dangerous thing, but good ole fashioned examining ourselves is recommended in scripture, 2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith." I bring this up for two reasons, and two reasons only...

Is the Angel of the Lord the preincarnate Christ?

So, I was reading Zechariah 1 and I came across the vision of the Angel of the Lord. He shows up many times in scripture, and seems to speak for(or as) God at times. In the particular passage I mentioned, it also called the Angel a man. Plus, he was the leader of the masses behind them. He...

Weeping may tarry for the night...

I wanted to give a quick testimony of what God has done for me, even before I knew him. I hope that this provides some encouragement and blessing to you all. In the end, I found that everything not only worked for a purpose but that what I thought to be curses were actually blessings! At...

    Hello Everyone

No, I actually considered myself a Christian, but I had no trust in the Lord. The only reason I actually believed was because my parents did. Beyond all of that even, I didn't know the Lord. About a year ago the Lord opened my eyes and showed me the foolishness of my ways. Glory be to him for that.

    Encouragement

I'm a bit new to poetry, and I know I have a lot of growing to do. Inspiration for this one came a few months ago when I was facing a dire trial. Even though I had great fear at first, he still comforted my soul through the trial. Trembling by day, Salvation by night. He has given me words to...

You Don’t Have To Pray About It.

Thank you for this wisdom! I know this is a story brought up a lot, but this kind of reminds me when Peter was on the water. He wasn't rebuked for stepping out onto the water in faith. Instead, he was rebuked for turning his gaze away from our Lord and doubting.

    Hello Everyone

Hi, my name is Mark. I'm pretty new to the faith, but God saved me about a year ago after 17 years of being a false convert. I see new mercies everyday, and I hope that we can all praise him together. Ecclesiastes 4:12 "And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand...
