Yeah, I do love that song. Even though it's about "West Virginia", the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah River are mostly in Virginia. It is a pretty state, we kind of have everything but a desert. (And the whole state is a desert most every July, LOL)

Are you thinking about coming to VA? I must say, you would stand out like a sore thumb if you came, your English is too good
Seriously though, I'd say the top spots are:
Mount Rogers, (Highest point in VA)
Luray Caverns,
Natural Bridge,
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens,
Shenandoah National Park,
The Dismal Swamp,
Chincoteague Island,
Crabtree Falls,
Cumberland Gap.
I'm more of a naturalist guy, so those are on my short list. Other people would include The Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, And Virginia Beach.

Macro photography is my favorite, it shows things that we can't see normally. Even weeds are pretty if you look at them in the right way. -
