So what do you say to Jesus? I'm going to heaven because of what I have done well.. or because of Jesus' sacrifice for you, when you believed on Him?

I agree with you on this. The question is.. how much fruit is required to 'prove' you are converted?

So where do you seperate daily service from eternal salvation? They are not the same thing and one is not dependent on the other.

The confusion you have is calling every believer an assembly! They will be assembled as one.. eventually..but are not assembled yet. The Predestination is of the place for those who believe..not salvation itself. Heaven preset for all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Also.. faithful...

Okay.. well.. we have all thru the book of John..believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. There's your freewill to be saved. Then in the same book..plus numerous other verses we have that salvation being permanent and eternal. That's not pure Calvinism or Arminianism

Jesus was baptised by immersion in water by John the Baptist. Jesus was doing this as an example, a fulfillment of prophecy. Not a salvation think I think at first thought for the disciples. A figure of already having conversion. If it is actually about salvation itself.. then it may be...

No one is saying don't commit.. but that it is a separate thing to receiving eternal life/conversion.

Because salvation and service are separated from each other. Justification for eternal life isn't dependent on faithful service. We are to be faithful..but faithfulness doesn't bring conversion. Jesus's gift to us does. So ya we are to die to self..deny ungodly lusts. But that's not...

A lifelong commitment to Jesus isn't salvation itself though. Salvation is a one time event..free gift..not by works. That's the difference..the point of it. Salvation isn't about our works..our commitment.. it's about Jesus' commitment to us..His sacrifice and payment. That's the point.

Interesting phrases we use like 'I committed my life to Christ ' 'I made Jesus my Lord and Saviour' These MAY have led someone to salvation.. but the Bible actually says.. 'I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is God, lived sinless and died and rose again.'

Right, so we are both talking about using the whole weight of scripture to measure whether water baptism is necessary for salvation. So whether it by believing or faith in Jesus to have salvation it is the same thing in different terms. The condition on NOT having salvation is always unbelief...

Well, the point of questioning 'turning from sin' being part of salvation.. is the fact that it IS about focussing on self instead of Jesus. So the person that is asked why they should be let into heaven may say 'because I turned from my sin'.. rather than 'because I believed on the Lord Jesus...
