Simple questions:

1) What requirements do you believe should a person meet in order to legally own a firearm?

2) What restrictions do you believe are acceptable as to the type of firearm it is legal to own?

I believe our repressive government should stay out of our lives and let the rule of law and The Constitution reign over our land

You say the Government should stay out of it, yet call for "the rule of law" to reign over our land? You do understand that "the rule of law" comes FROM our Government?

Just wondering here...........who do you suppose GAVE us our Constitution?

Please take note this is an opinion...I DO NOT WANT to battle the POLITICS of this issue or other political issues!

1.) FULL Background check and ALL mental health issues should be reported to the system and all with issues denied....If a mental health issue arises after obtaining a gun, then the guns need to be turned in. Bright side it will create more jobs! Yes may be a hassle, however I believe may solve a lot of issues.

2.) Restrictions to certain fire arms? There is a law in place that restricts certain weapons from being purchased legally. So therefore I am confused on the question.

!) Full background checks of anyone that wants to buy a firearm. If a friend is buying it for you then background check with them, and the friend getting the firearm. Also, call me stupid, but I think they should specifically have like a certain amount of waiting time specifically put into it. That way maybe if someone is thinking of doing something violent, at least they have a certain amount of time allotted for them to think about it. And if a person who wants a gun isn't willing to wait, maybe they shouldn't have a gun either.

2) I think a person should be restricted if they have any history of: violence, violence with a weapon, stalking, sexual harassment, road rage, ect. Basically the felonies that involve causing another person physical harm. And no assault rifles or crap like that. You want to protect yourself, fine. You don't need to take the person's entire torso off their body to protect.

1. 18 yrs old and of sound mind and body.

2. Restricted to the same restrictions as law enforcement. Whatever they can have, the general population should be able to have as well.

I don't believe laws will stop criminals or the insane.

I believe courageous men and women will stop criminals and the insane.

Maybe I'm just a dreamer...

A person should have been trained and passed a certification to be a responsible firearm owner. There must be a valid reason to possess a firearm.

No person should be permitted automatic firearms

No, just realize that while neither of us may be pleased with some of, or even the majority of our elected officials, we can not simply throw Government out of the equation. We have a system of Government, and, if we want to achieve anything, we must work through the system we have.

Your initial comment did not address the subject of the OP though............so, are there any requirements/restrictions for gun ownership you believe should be in place?

As I understand it, Liberals want not only to ban ALL automatic weapons, but semi-automatic weapons as well. Like the AR-15 and others.

Problem is, MOST EVERY FIREARM MADE is by definition semi-automatic.............. :)

I agree that background checks should be required. I also believe certain types of firearms should be reserved for our Military and not the civilian population at large.

105 Howitzers come to mind.......... :) and Gatling Guns..........

Very true...........not debating that. There is NO LAW that will prevent criminals or the insane from committing horrific acts of violence, regardless of what the Progressive Liberal Socialists preach.

The only thing that will stop a BAD man with a gun is a GOOD man with a gun......... :)

The "valid reason" is the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution............. just saying..........
