I have ADD and as you may know that means I cannot focus very well
and I was wondering what that meant for me when doing any kind of work
I want to be able to work to the best of my ability for God but since I have ADD
I always get distracted when doing my work and have to take a lot of breaks because I start to get anxiety after trying to focus for too long
does anyone know how I can do things to the best of my ability without being lazy(being a side effect of my condition)

There has been some work done on biofeedback as help for ADD in teens. Biofeedback therapists can teach you to be quiet inside so you can focus. Perhaps your parents could look into it for you.

It is used for a lot of different things. I can’t afford a therapist, but use some of the techniques to achieve quietness so I can focus on tense muscles in my back to relax them, and so have pain control. It can be used to bring high blood pressure down.

It is my personal opinion that it is most effective when we know God. I let God relax my tense muscles, for instance.

there are alot of different coping methods that you can use to deal with it.

first if it is a big task split it up into smaller ones and work for like 15 minutes, take a break and then refocus and get back to work again.

i have found setting a timer for breaks helps so that you don't just daze off.

write down what you are thinking as you are thinking it so you don't forget. like keep a small notepad with you to list things you need to do or want to accomplish and work on crossing them off throughout the week.

there are other tips but I found that ADD students lose interest at this point and need a break ;)

I have ADHD and I totally know the feeling!
There's a book I would HIGHLY recommend you read titled "You Mean I'm not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy?!"

it is written as a self help book for adults with ADD/ADHD and the information it contains is absolutely invaluable in helping you understand the condition as well as numerous tips and tricks that have helped others with the condition overcome their perceived limitations for good. It has really changed my life for the better.

you can pick it up here:
(Walmart.com: You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy?!: The Classic Self-Help Book for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder, Ramundo, Peggy: Health, Mind & Body)

most of all, remember: God made us this way for a reason. We are different, yes. But we are NOT defective! We have a spectacular array of skills and talents. While we might seem impatient, careless, sloppy, impulsive, and quick to anger, we are also highly active, creative, compassionate, open minded, enthusiastic, passionate, and curious beyond almost anyone else. You are exactly the way God intended you to be, and He can and will use you exactly as He intended.
