I believe the Rapture comes at the second coming when we meet the Lord in the air and accompany him back to Earth to defeat the Antichrist at Armageddon.

My thread - As In The Days Of Noah - can be found on page 5 of the Bible Discussion Forum. It has had 102 views but no replies so anyone interested can find it there.
No millennial rule of Christ on this earth?

I believe this chain of events:

We see God's judgment on earth.

We are caught up with Christ as He returns, missing the time of wrath which is when God takes the truly wicked away.

There are some who survive the whole ordeal, being neither God's elect or truly wicked.

We return to earth with Christ to rule over these survivors for 1000 years while satan is bound.

At the end of this 1000 years satan is loosed to gather what he can for the battle of Armageddon.

God then call us all, His or not, to His throne for judgment.

God de-creates this creation, forming the lake of fire (see my blog about hell).

Those who are not His are given the world in it's natural state apart from Him (ie the lake of fire).

Those who are His are given the new earth to inhabit, along with New Jerusalem.

We all live happily ever after exploring God's new creation!

Wrong!!! Born again believers are only judged as to what rewards they will receive But God rejecting, sin loving sinners are judged and cast into the eternal lake of fire!

The "tribulation judgments" ARE the wrath of God on this God rejecting, sin loving world!

The rapture(catching up) into heaven of all born again believers is not the same event as the return of Jesus to earth to set up His kingdom and rule the nations with a rod of iron.
So the parable of the Wheat and Tares can be ignored? This is when he sends his Angels to separate the Wheat and tares and the tares are thrown in the fire and the Wheat is gathered up. This is a stark difference from the popular Pre Trib/Left behind scenario where Christ comes invisibly snatches up the church and the rest of the world carries on worshiping the beast and shrugging off the mass disappearance. Most Christians I have known or read about believe in two comings of Christ one at his birth and one in Judgement.

Yes! After the rapture millions maybe billions will know God is real and become born again believers but they must then try to stay alive under anti-Christ rule and the years of the great tribulation. 1Thess 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-58

Hello tanakh,

The problem is that you are not taking into consideration that there are multiple groups that will be existing during end-time events. Because you have not understood this, you apply all scripture to the church:

The Church
: Will be resurrected and caught up prior to the first seal being opened, which initiates God's wrath

The Great Tribulation Saints: In Rev.7:9-17 the elder introduces this group as those who will have come out of the great tribulation (Gentile believers), who are not the church, which is supported by the fact that the word Ekklesia/church is never used again beyond the end of chapter 3.

The Woman Clothed with Sun, moon and stars: According to Gen.37:9-10 the woman is symbolic representing Israel. She will be here in fulfillment of that last seven years, where after the abomination is set up in the holy place, she will flee out into the wilderness where she will be cared for by God for 1260 days, which is that last 3 1/2 years of that seven year period.

The 144,000: The Male Child of Revelation 12 is a collective name for the 144,000, whom the woman, Israel gives birth to. This group are the first fruits to God out of Israel, who are all males.

The church is the only group that will be having faith in Christ, waiting and longing for the Lord's appearing to gather them. Since scripture states in several places that the church is not appointed to suffer God's coming wrath and that because Jesus already suffered it, they will be gathered prior to that first seal being opened, which initiates God's wrath.

The other three groups are those who will have not believed in Jesus as Messiah and that day will close on them like a trap, being exposed to the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments, with each group having different programs.

All that said, once you understand their individual existence and their role regarding end-time events, then you will be able to properly apply scripture to the appropriate group.

Regarding the Wheat and tares, these are not the church, but the wheat is referring to those great tribulation saints and false believers, the latter being gathered "first" by the angels and killed by that double-edged sword.
