Earth is but one microscopic speck in a universe is so massive that man may not ever be able to explore it completely. To say that God put intelligent life on one small speck of the universe and left the rest of it completely empty is being very closed-minded. There may not be a Bible verse to prove the existents of aliens, but there are a lot of things that the Bible doesn’t address. For example; from fossils we know that dinosaurs indeed did exist, but there is not much mention of them in the Bible. If the writers of the Bible didn’t view something as being relevant to the salvation of souls then they didn’t write about it. But just because it’s not written about in the Bible doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.

I don't have any Bible verses to prove that space aliens exist one way or the other. But I have been teaching for almost twenty years and I'm sure that some of my kids came here from another planet!

I guess I'm close-minded. I believe what Genesis says about creation, and thus extra-terrestrials comparable to humans isn't a possibility.

Well, yes, it doesn't exactly talk about Ferraris, but it does speak on creation. Don't you think we should base our beliefs concerning creation, on scripture?

There are two things I could go for here, but I think I'll go for the important one.

Read Job chapter 40, and let me know if you notice anything interesting. ;)

I can think of a number of things the bible mentions that aren't immediately relevant to salvation. One example would be much of what is mentioned in the history books of Chronicles and Kings.

But just because it’s not written about in the Bible doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.
Certainly. I don't think that's the argument that has been put forth, and if it has been I agree with you in that just because the bible does not mention something does not mean it is not so. I do ask though, that because the bible speaks on creation that when we ask questions concerning creation, we should answer them first with scripture.

I don't have a lot of faith that UFOs are flying around our skies, or that Aliens helped build the pyramids, or that Adam and Eve were in fact created by aliens (watch the history channel if you don't know what I am talking about on that last one), even though there are some good arguments to be made about the Nephlim. But I certainly believe that there is other live in the universe. That life's comparability to humans is another matter. I just don't know. Could be close to us, could be something completely outside of human imagination. Could even be exactly like us in every way (but I kind of doubt that). Point is, I think there is other life, no doubt about it in my mind.

I know the bible doesn't specifically mentions little green men, but I certainly don't thing that the bible excludes their existence. "God created the heavens and the earth" who knows what the heavens are filled with.

Another thing I don't get, where does everyone get the notion that everything is evil and demons. The bible doesn't support this, not for ghost either (another thread).

Weather there are aliens on other planets, i have no idea, but i really hope their are. God made such a huge universe, i have a hard time believing we are the only inhabitants of it.

I have to agree with what several others have said: I believe that there is life on other planets, that the same God we worship created that life. There is nothing in Genesis that contradicts this. No where does is say that this is the ONLY planet God created. It says that God created EVERYTHING, all planets, all life, then it goes on to talk about what God created on this particular planet. The Bible doesn't talk about what God created on other planets because (a) it doesn't concern us, and (b) the writers/recorders of God's word would have no knowledge or ability to transcribe what God was saying if God even wanted to talk about it. I mean, sure, God wrote the Bible, but he was limited by the human language available at the time the Bible was written. That's why the sun is not described as a star, the sky is described as a dome (rather than the great expanse that it is), etc. It's all based on what humans could conceive at the time. God could only get ideas into the heads of the people that they're heads could comprehend.

As for alien encounters, I also agree with what most people here seem to be saying: I remain suspicious. I don't want to say "never." I like to keep an open mind. I would say the likelihood is high that what most people experience as an "alien encounter" is some combination of imagination and/or supernatural phenomena (i.e. demonic, angelic, or just plain other-worldly, as in from the spiritual world, not extra-terrestrial). That is not to say that we will never encounter life from other planets. Like I said, open mind. You never know. But has it happened? I doubt it. As huge as the universe is, and as rare as it is for life to happen, I think there are many millions of light years between life-sustaining planets, so it would be eons before any beings had the ability to travel that far. But it sure is fun to fantasize about. Love the movies books and tv shows!
