Well, English is basically the universal language, so if you can both speak it fairly well, that at least comes in handy. I have no idea how much you speak though, or if you use a translator for a lot of what I say.

Oh wow.. Thats pretty awesome.. I kind if wish that having a different language would have been a required thing here at a young age... I think that us Americans would have been better off being bi-lingual.

Yeah. Well, you got the option to learn in high school, but the only thing they offered in our schools was Spanish or French. I think kids should learn it when they're young instead of them waiting for grades 9-12 for it.

Thats the advantage of living in a small country. We HAVE to learn other languages :D

learning languages in school doesn't really work, cos you only learn to count and name animals and colours and things, nothing useful. I'm at the end of my French GCSE at the moment, but I still hardly understand anything when I actually go to France. :(

well, you have to do both of course, but much of my English is from school (thats why i use a / an unlike the Americans :p )

but then again most Tv shows that are worth watching are in english/ american, and many books are better in english too

I grew up bilingual. When I have kids, I want them to grow up speaking spanish. Then when they get a little older, I want them to pick another language and learn it.
