Tonight i have had awareness of how wretched a person I am without God. It feels highly uncomfortable but the blessings are...

greater awareness of my need for Him.
more humilty.
Firmness in my trust of him.
a falling away of trying to be good and surrendering to Him...make of me what you will.

Thank you Lord for your presence in my life

You are a daughter of God.

Just make sure you aren't calling yourself things He never would.

Oh! I recently realized this too! I came to the realization that I was in a repeating cycle, for years, of failure, depression, resolve to be and do better, then eventually failure and depression again.

I had met God and received the Holy Spirit and I was so grateful and felt it was up to me, thereafter, to be good. But anger in my heart is murder! So I was never able to keep myself from it for long unless I hid from every person in the world!

When I finally saw how poor I was in Spirit, I had only one prayer, over and over - please have mercy on me or I will remain this way forever!

Very soon after, I began to have victory. Bitter resentments and Angers that I was helpless with were replaced with love and prayers for those who treated me unfairly or unthinkingly.

All it took was finally admitting HE would have to do it if I was ever to be different!

Yes! Awareness of wretchedness is a gift!
Blessed are the poor in spirit...doesn't mean we must become poor. It means we REALIZE our poverty. This awareness IS the blessing!

This is a wonderful thread! Coming to the realization of who we were and who we are NOW in Christ because of his glorious gift is quite humbling . I think it shows maturity to actually recognize it! Resting in HIM is a beautiful thing.

1 Corinth 1:30
It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has been become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
