Last year in 2021 . . .

Jimmy and Eddie lived in the same apartment complex but were not roommates. John lived in the apartment complex next door.

This past February Jimmy moved out and left behind two bicycles. Last month John had his bicycle stolen so Eddie suggested to John that he use one of Jimmy’s bicycles but not to get too used to using it because Jimmy may come back for his bicycles.

Yesterday Jimmy returned for his bicycles but John vehemently denied having ever used his bicycle even though he has been using it.

My question: Without getting the police involved, should Eddie buy Jimmy a bicycle and call it a day?
So you've three low-grade MORONS who don't communicate with each other. WHO CARES WHAT THE FOOLS DO???

Since Eddie put them in the complex's storeroom it can be inferred that Eddie has something to do with the complex. Otherwise he has no right to use the complex's space outside of that he has rented.

John is not a thief because he was told to use one after inquiring about a bike. John did not just grab one and run. If anyone is a thief it would be Eddie who told John to use something Eddie has no right to give away.

If Jimmy intended to come back for the bikes at a later date he should have had a storage agreement with someone attached to the complex. Absent that he abandoned them.

John should not be lying about having the bike. he's in the clear by stating that Jimmy abandoned them and Eddie authorized his use of one.

To keep the peace, John should give the bike back.

And Jimmy should learn a lesson from this.
John is a thief because he took ownership of something that didn't belong to him.

Thanks everyone for your insight 😊🙏
Sometimes the answer isn't between right and wrong but good and best. Sounds like a matter of conscience. What glorifies God most? You already know that there are a number of right answers. Which one would you want for yourself? That's what love looks like.

Thanks for offering absolutely nothing relevant to this conversation other than proving yourself to be a FOOL and a MORON.

I wouldn’t have left two bicycles unattended for five months and I definitely wouldn’t steal anyone’s bicycle. I also know from this story not to get involved in anyone else’s affairs.

Excoriation can make you feel good about yourself.

There was a time when that proved true for me but today it has the opposite effect. That said, sometimes excoriating someone is necessary.
