WHAT ABOUT DRUGS?

Revelation 18:23
and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.

φαρμακεια noun - dative singular feminine
pharmakeia far-mak-i'-ah: medication (pharmacy), i.e. (by extension) magic -- sorcery, witchcraft.

"And it seems to me perfectly in the cards that there will be within the next generation or so a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing … a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda, brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods."
- Aldous Huxley
Using police to enforce a Big Pharma medication agenda is a violation of civil rights (and a waste of good cops)

(NaturalNews) In a new video posted today (link below), I argue that using police officers to enforce a Big Pharma medication agenda is not merely a violation of civil rights, but a crime against human rights. It is a grave misuse of state power and a waste of law enforcement resources that are already stretched thin across the country.

The full video is available at:
http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=97774...

The video concerns the case of Maryanne Godboldo, the Detroit mom who was raided at gunpoint after refusing to allow Child Protective Services to kidnap her daughter. What was Maryanne's supposed "failure" at parenting? She refused to give her daughter a psychiatric medication prescribed by her doctor -- a medication that even the state now admits the daughter didn't need.

Scientists target drugs that improve behaviour

GUARDIAN NEWS SERVICE

A pill to enhance moral behaviour, a treatment for racist thoughts, a therapy to increase your empathy for people in other countries — these may sound like the stuff of science fiction but with medicine getting closer to altering our moral state, society should be preparing for the consequences, according to a book that reviews scientific developments in the field.

Drugs such as Prozac that alter a patient’s mental state already have an impact on moral behaviour, but scientists predict that future medical advances may allow much more sophisticated manipulations.

The field is in its infancy, but “it’s very far from being science fiction”, said Dr Guy Kahane, deputy director of the Oxford Centre for Neuroethics and a Wellcome Trust biomedical ethics award winner.

“Science has ignored the question of moral improvement so far, but it is now becoming a big debate,” he said. “There is already a growing body of research you can describe in these terms. Studies show that certain drugs affect the ways people respond to moral dilemmas by increasing their sense of empathy, group affiliation and by reducing aggression.” Researchers have become very interested in developing biomedical technologies capable of intervening in the biological processes that affect moral behaviour and moral thinking, according to Dr Tom Douglas, a Wellcome Trust research fellow at Oxford University’s Uehiro Centre. “It is a very hot area of scientific study right now.” He is co-author of Enhancing Human Capacities, published today (4APR), which includes a chapter on moral enhancement.

Drugs that affect our moral thinking and behaviour already exist, but we tend not to think of them in that way. [Prozac] lowers aggression and bitterness against environment and so could be said to make people more agreeable. Or Oxytocin, the so-called love hormone ... increases feelings of social bonding and empathy while reducing anxiety,” he said.

“Scientists will develop more of these drugs and create new ways of taking drugs we already know about. We can already, for example, take prescribed doses of Oxytocin as a nasal spray,” he said.
But would pharmacologically-induced altruism, for example, amount to genuine moral behaviour? Guy Kahane, deputy director of the Oxford Centre for Neuroethics and a Wellcome Trust biomedical ethics award winner, said: “We can change people’s emotional responses but quite whether that improves their moral behaviour is not something science can answer.” He also admitted that it was unlikely people would “rush to take a pill that would make them morally better.

“Becoming more trusting, nicer, less aggressive and less violent can make you more vulnerable to exploitation,” he said. “On the other hand, it could improve your relationships or help your career.” Kahane does not advocate putting morality drugs in the water supply, but he suggests that if administered widely they might help humanity to tackle global issues.

“Relating to the plight of people on other side of the world or of future generations is not in our nature,” he said. “This new body of drugs could make possible feelings of global affiliation and of abstract empathy for future generations.” Ruud ter Meulen, chair in ethics in medicine and director of the centre for ethics in medicine at the University of Bristol, warned that while some drugs can improve moral behaviour, other drugs — and sometimes the same ones — can have the opposite effect.
“While Oxytocin makes you more likely to trust and co-operate with others in your social group, it reduces empathy for those outside the group,” Meulen said.

The use of deep brain stimulation, used to help those with Parkinson’s disease, has had unintended consequences, leading to cases where patients begin stealing from shops and even becoming sexually aggressive, he added.

“Basic moral behaviour is to be helpful to others, feel responsible to others, have a sense of solidarity and sense of justice,” he said. “I’m not sure that drugs can ever achieve this. But there’s no question that they can make us more likeable, more social, less aggressive, more open attitude to other people,” he said.

Meulen also suggested that moral-enhancement drugs might be used in the criminal justice system. “These drugs will be more effective in prevention and cure than prison,” he said.

The pills set to make you WANT to exercise more, quit smoking and stay faithful to your partner

Science fiction writers have often imagined a world where pop pill to cure or curb a range of ills.

But, according to a new book The Compass Of Pleasure, that futuristic world may not be far off.

The book, by Johns Hopkins University neuroscientist David J. Linden, explores the search for drugs that may alter behaviour by working on the brain.

Magic pills: The new book The Compass Of Pleasure suggests new pills may alter our behaviour, blocking addictions and enhancing relationships

These drugs are often called 'psychopharmaceuticals', and they can be used to stop smoking, quit drinking, ward off midnight cravings or even stay faithful to our spouse.

Critics argue that it is dangerous to meddle in human behaviour, which has many nuances and factors that are poorly understood.

Obese mothers-to-be get a pill to prevent fat babies in NHS trial

Hundreds of mothers-to-be are being given drugs to stop them from having obese babies as part of a controversial NHS trial.

The overweight women will take the diabetes pill, metformin, up to three times a day during their pregnancy.

The treatment is designed to reduce the food supply to the baby, rather than make the expectant mother lose weight herself.

The doctors behind the trial say obesity among pregnant women is reaching epidemic proportions and they need to protect the health of tomorrow’s children.

However, many healthy women are likely to be uneasy about mass medication in pregnancy for a problem which can be treated through changes to diet and exercise.

With studies suggesting that the seeds of obesity are sown in the womb, early intervention could save youngsters from a lifetime of weight problems and ill-health.

Metformin, which costs pennies per tablet, has been safely used by diabetics for decades and is cleared for the treatment of diabetes in pregnancy.

The latest figures show that almost half of women of child- bearing age are overweight or obese and more than 15 per cent of pregnant women are obese.

This raises their odds of dying in pregnancy, of their baby being stillborn and of a host of pregnancy complications, some of which can be fatal.

Big babies – those weighing more than 10lb – are around twice as likely to be obese as adults, suggesting obesity is ‘programmed’ in the womb. The metformin trial, which has just started, aims to exploit the ability of the widely used diabetes drug to lower levels of the hormone insulin in the mother’s bloodstream.

Obese women make more insulin than other mothers-to-be and this leads to more fat, sugars and other foods being supplied to the baby.

I'm new at this site. I enjoyed reading this post. It was informative and educational. On the pharmacy thread ... It is apparent that we need to know what we are taking and what the effects are. Matthew 24:4 tells us, "And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you." I say this because there are untold numbers of Christians that are "addicted" to prescription medications because they didn't question their doctors about what was prescribed.
In small towns it is harder to question doctors about stuff thats prescribed because they will not answer or beat around the bush .And they want only a docile approach from patients in a monthly appointment or check up..But there maybe ways /but one has to utilize assertive skills to get questions answered or get results from them. Sometimes family members like the drugs to keep relatives 'under control' as sad as that is [my big theory thats likely true ]].. Many only are PRAGMATIC as many Americans are and only seek results of a certain thing..Many churches seek out only pragmatism too.Sadly. This has happened as I'm not making this up. People need be more scrupulous here.

you know something very concerning when I had my daughter they wanted to do a peptocin drip and I told them I didn't want one and they were very insistent and said "well its in the doctors orders and it will help the baby come along faster" I told her "well the baby is coming along fine" "we want to speed it up...." I interrupted and said "how do you know how the baby is doing anyways since I'm not hooked up to the monitors for the last fifteen minutes?"

She stop arguing with me and walked out the room.

I found it strange. IF I wasn't assertive or out of it or alone without my husband to back me up, I'm not sure what she would have done. why isn't the wishes of the patient respected as much or MORE then the doctors orders?

I mean this is the MATERNITY Ward. they won't even let you have the baby unless they put an IV in your arm. how much sense does that make?

I just pray that God takes care of us. we get fed poison every day. I try not to think of it Zone but most of the food in the grocery stores have chemical additives. the building materials give off cancerous fumes (epestos and lead paint are just the ones the public knows about there are more)

I'm a scientist if I think of it too much, well let me put it this way

People should be praising God for protecting them Far MORE then they typically do. Our lives are in God's hands, why worry overly much? If God speaks in your heart to act and speak it is good, but do not do it out of FEAR but LOVE for others. :)

Mark 16
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

the Communist Manifesto (Marxism) has as a primary PLANK the break-up of the family.
this has been pretty much accomplished in the west, as the welfare state was introduced at roughly the same time as women's lib (and the pill, etc).....i'm not judging the women here: this plan was implemented incrementally, as all their stuff is in the west (see FABIAN SOCIALISM)

the idea, even as Hitler said, was to draw the woman to the State via her children (and the State's "experts" i.e; Dr. Spock)...once the State had the women and children, the men would follow. and they have been right. when the man has no family to defend and fight for, he also becomes more docile and will obey the State more readily.

to help them in this, they have been feminizing the entire population with estrogen for decades (this is why we see so many more homosexual men, and the shapes of our bodies are changing. girls are entering puberty at 7 and 8 YEARS OLD!!!)

we see with the broken homes (encouraged, along with the crushing of Christian values) and the sexualization of children (TV etc) that people no longer bond for marriage or even a lasting relationship. this is what the bad guys need....no unit of resistence, but aggression and perversions can be channelled later. they just have to destroy loyalties.

the Huxleys and Russell said this was ideal: when sterilization was in place, and the people had been sufficiently dumb-downed, thy wuld be encouraed to "rut like animals" all day long (since they couldn't produce children.

these people in the driver's seat today are ruthless psychopaths, the same lot that has always been in charge. its even the same corporations keeping our data today.

Edwin Black has now uncovered one of the last great mysteries of Germany's war against the Jews -- how did Hitler get the names?

IBM and the Holocaust is the stunning story of IBM's strategic alliance with Nazi Germany -- beginning in 1933 in the first weeks that Hitler came to power and continuing well into World War II. As the Third Reich embarked upon its plan of conquest and genocide, IBM and its subsidiaries helped create enabling technologies, step-by-step, from the identification and cataloging programs of the 1930s to the selections of the 1940s. Only after Jews were identified -- a massive and complex task that Hitler wanted done immediately -- could they be targeted for efficient asset confiscation, ghettoization, deportation, enslaved labor, and, ultimately, annihilation. It was a cross-tabulation and organizational challenge so monumental, it called for a computer. Of course, in the 1930s no computer existed.

But IBM's Hollerith punch card technology did exist. Aided by the company's custom-designed and constantly updated Hollerith systems, Hitler was able to automate his persecution of the Jews. Historians have always been amazed at the speed and accuracy with which the Nazis were able to identify and locate European Jewry. Until now, the pieces of this puzzle have never been fully assembled. The fact is, IBM technology was used to organize nearly everything in Germany and then Nazi Europe, from the identification of the Jews in censuses, registrations, and ancestral tracing programs to the running of railroads and organizing of concentration camp slave labor.

IBM and its German subsidiary custom-designed complex solutions, one by one, anticipating the Reich's needs. They did not merely sell the machines and walk away. Instead, IBM leased these machines for high fees and became the sole source of the billions of punch cards Hitler needed.

IBM and the Holocaust takes you through the carefully crafted corporate collusion with the Third Reich, as well as the structured deniability of oral agreements, undated letters, and the Geneva intermediaries -- all undertaken as the newspapers blazed with accounts of persecution and destruction.

Just as compelling is the human drama of one of our century's greatest minds, IBM founder Thomas Watson, who cooperated with the Nazis for the sake of profit.

Only with IBM's technologic assistance was Hitler able to achieve the staggering numbers of the Holocaust. Edwin Black has now uncovered one of the last great mysteries of Germany's war against the Jews -- how did Hitler get the names?

Amen!

i think after we are washed and in Christ, we forget also how desperately wicked men are.
and how purely satanic the reprobates are.

seeing all that, knowing Jesus came and died for even the worst (no hope for the reprobates), we really can see why such drastic measures were undertaken by God. and that He would do all this for us while we were dead and blind:)

the hospitals in the US are dreadful places: and you are very fortunate you were smart enough and insistent enough to say no to them.

CPS is a sinister organization (i'll leave it any who wish to decide what that means for themselves: hint - DynCorp).

as for the food, i'm afraid its all garbage: the eiltes (we'll call them) have their own farms and sources and always have. the stuff we get is GM all the way. they've reached the level in their agenda where now US SWAT are arresting the Amish for trading raw milk, they are raiding and closing health food stores, and natural supplements are now illegal(*see Codex Alimentarius*)

watch for increased calls for VEGETARIANSIM - they will say its because of the enviornment, or cruelty to animals, or obesity or any number of reasons: but its for the same reason it ALWAYS IS: no protein means not enough strength to rebel.

~

More and more people are becoming concerned about the shady, secretive organization that is Codex Alimentarius - the thinly-veiled propaganda arm of the international pharmaceutical industry that does everything it can to promote industry objectives whilst limiting individual options to maintain health (which would diminish mermbers profits).

Codex alimentarius is one of the major bodies behind the effort to limit access to nutritional products and information. Its motivation is not rocket science and neither is the source of its funding - money that somehow expected to return a profit to its members . . . Most of the information available regarding codex alimentarius refers to its role in the USA, but it is not a US-specific body. Far from it, Codex has wiggled its dirty little tentacles into just about every national or international body concerned with public health. Posing as a benefactor, it then uses its significant financial and political clout to do its masters bidding.

As you can read in the excellent article below, there is much to be concerned about when considering codex alimentarius - ignore it at your peril.
Codex Alimentarius - The Sinister Truth Behind Operation Cure-All
(From an original article by Ruth James)
Codex Alimentarius - the REAL threat to World health

and yes ananda, you are right: God has not given us a spirt of fear, but a sound mind.
He is totally in control and not one sparrow falls that He hasn't seen.

I just saw this post and it brought to mind a new medication I reciently saw spoken to on the news.
This new drug will make a man more sering and attentive to His loves needs.
What next is all I could think.
But throughout time evil has worked what is in the world to its want, using all that is of the world to draw and try and snare any it can.
But as said, when we look to Jesus we are covered and protected, we who are not of the world , cannot be taken by it.
Simply put, when all one seeks is Jesus, evil cannot steal.
Covered in the armor of Christ, we live!

in Jesus, God bless.
