I think atheists would ask the same, do you have facts for Christian beliefs?
I agree. Asking an Atheist for "facts" is the same as asking a Christian for "facts". The Atheist will argue that the "facts" they offer are valid, the same with the Christian. Sure, we can all use the same worn out line of, "It is the Bible, so it is fact." If that HAS to be considered evidence, then the Atheist will say, "Okay, here is my book written by random people that say that God doesn't exist. Most of the time Christians are too stubborn or have that "I am a Christian, so you have to believe me" type of attitude.
So to answer the original question, "Can Atheists prove that Atheism is based on facts?" MY answer: No. But a Christian can't either.

It goes much further than this. If atheists admit they can confirm nothing as truth, then how can they be sure Jesus didn't exist or that Christians base all their beliefs on fantasy? Again, atheists admit they know nothing for sure! Everything they believe is based on what scientists assert as EVIDENCE of why things are the way they are, just as Christians assert that faith is EVIDENCE of things unseen. In other words, this debate has to do with what evidence each one of us chooses to believe leads to truth. So if atheists admit they know nothing for sure, how can they possibly claim they know for sure there is no God?
You really need to stay up to date.

The question itself is flawed, (a)theism based on facts? Perhaps the persons reason for being one, but atheism, a lack of theism is simply a status.

I understand what you are saying, but in this case Ugly is clearly correct. Even if you had fully intended it to be private, posting it publicly allows others to comment.
No, apparently you're not getting it either.

If I believe in nothing isnt that still a belief? To believe in nothing still means I believe in something.

The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists?
A student bravely replied yes, he did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes, sir," the student replied.
The professor answered...

*snip*

...The professor sat down.

I would take this one on for size famous response. Do not know where it originated from, although some claim it was Albert Einstein, however that is not the case!
"The univeristy professor" - prefessor in what exactly? I'd say that it is quite unlikely that the discussion referred to - just as "The story of the atheist and the little girl on the plane", has ever actually happened.
